TOKYO (AP) — The Tokyo Olympics are probably going to happen, but almost surely in 2021 rather than in four months as planned.

Japan and the IOC should’ve announced this (at minimum) two weeks ago. I can’t imagine wtf they were thinking.

Well, this delay will allow President Biden to attend. So there’s that.

The corrupt IOC was resisting postponing the games. They just can’t lose the graft, but the big countries pulling out changed their minds.

Australia backing out is big. They’ve sent teams to almost every Olympics – and they did not participate in the Moscow boycott.
