Hope the House Dems can keep up the momentum they started yesterday with rat AG Barr. Namely reminding these folks that, in this country at least, they are to be held accountable to the elected officiants and their constituents, not the other way round.

One of the (many) problems this exposes is the lack of decent career paths for professional federal employees. Somebody puts in their 10-20 years and gets worried about their kids’ college funds, and that 2-10x salary increment by doing a deal with the devil starts looking awfully good. (Especially if they can convince themselves that they’ll still get to do pro bono work, blah blah.)
