And a large portion of the population didn’t think his performance was bad. Oh and we need to quit picking on him.

Yes, Schwäbisch is virtually unintelligible for outsiders. Not that the regional dialects elsewhere are much better. Lived elsewhere in Baden-Württemberg and it sounded like they always had a mouth full of mashed potatoes. Now where I live the dialect is a variant of Kölsch which is also very, um, special. Here’s something we all have in this region – the Rhenian (Rhineland) Basic Law (das rheinische Grundgesetz – or, in the local dialect et rheinsche Jrundjesetz)

I predict, “I told Zapansky not to mess with Putin. Both great guys. Putin loves Ivanka. So does MSB. Now they’re gonna’ make a deal - possibly a big deal. A beautiful one. Best one ever! Who knows? People are sayin’ three-way …”

If Russia is winning based on the reports we’re getting, what would losing look like? Obviously, everything can change pretty quickly in a war zone, but not only do they appear to be getting more resistance than many expected, a win would be pyrrhic given the sanctions they’ll be operating under for a while.

At any rate, the only thing affected by our comments here are our own expectations. They sure as hell don’t affect the action in Ukraine.

Given the level of corruption in Russia, and the ever-present temptation in all countries in all times to profiteer by furnishing short or inferior goods to the military, and to pilfer from the same, it would not surprise me at all that the offensive could run out of gas and food, and maybe repair parts.

There’s probably plenty of ammunition overall, but if trucks have trouble running, maybe not at the front.

It’s the Masurian Lakes all over again.

It’ll be a split screen tonight, I fear: tRump on the left half, waving his arms at CPAC…and on the right half, Russian missiles hitting buildings in Kyiv

Additional thought …
Vladimir Putin may have earned himself
Psychopathic unhinged “B-list” despot status next to

  • Pol Pot
  • Idi Amin
  • Benito Mussolini
  • Nicolae Ceaușescu

Nasty psychos of marginal historic note.
Shitty people… all … and shitty all the way through.

Does the Ukraine military have all the resources they need to effectively use all that weaponry and money at one time? I doubt these will be the last supplies we donate to them, but they can only use so much at one time.

Oh, and: Remember that these guys have been living in tents in the winter for several weeks, possibly with inadequate food.

At least they are very upfront about their goals now. I turn your attention to the header at the top of the CPAC proscenium below.

What is the point of even publishing a poll like that? Or, for that matter, conducting it? Criminy.

Remember the war against Franco?
It’s the war where each of us belongs.
Though he may have won all the battles,
We had all the best songs!
