Tina Peters, the Republican clerk of Mesa County, Colorado who was long suspected of aiding a leak of sensitive election machinery data from her own office, has been indicted on multiple counts, as has her deputy Belinda Knisley.
“The charges against Peters include three counts of attempting to influence a public servant, one count of conspiracy to commit attempt to influence a public servant, criminal impersonation, conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, identity theft, first-degree official misconduct, violation of duty, failing to comply with the secretary of state…”
Grand jury was convened in part by Republican Mesa County DA Dan Rubenstein.
The Colorado GOP can’t even get their own story straight. I’ve been marveling at their steady self-destruction ever since I moved to the state 18 years ago.
This is heartwarming news. Now it’s important for the Colorado justice system to make an example of her and throw the book at her (and whatever else they can throw). The woman was aiding and abetting the destruction of democracy in my non-legally trained opinion.
“…she was running for reelection as clerk, then set her sights higher, saying she was campaigning instead to be Colorado’s next secretary of state.”
She should have Mike Lindell anoint her President of Colorado. He can do that. And if someone says he can’t, he and Peters could sue them. Sounds like a plan.
