Tillis Outlines The Stakes

And Social Security. Fewer losers claiming benefits.

White House officials are planning to “defer” roughly 200 separate accounts across the federal government,

When this appears on the Supreme Court’s shadow docket the vote will be 6-3 to allow Trump to impound the funds while litigation creeps in this petty pace from day to day, to the last syllable of recorded time.

Dog and Pony Show. Smoke and Mirrors.

Call it whatever you want, but they’ll all fall in line by next week.

Just today, Graham, long and vocal “champion” of PEPFAR, which provides AIDS relief around the globe (one of W’s true accomplishments), folded like a fainting napkin while claiming his “eyes had been opened” about how it was all just a front for abortion care and would absolutely vote for the rescission package zeroing out its funding. And then had the audacity to scold - to no one in particular that I can discern - that he didn’t want to hear anything about the cruelty of the matter because “governance has consequences” (implying that PEPFAR was deserving of destruction … echoes of the same USAID bullshit spin back in February)

They are all conniving little fucks getting their jollies destroying any of the things that made us a respected and respectable nation.

Tillis will vote for the big ugly bill after creating some illusory sheen that he “made the bill better” - and garners glowing press back home - in hopes of securing his reelection next year.

I can still be shocked that the main concern of Tillis is that he, and others, may lose their jobs. There’s not a lot of worry that constituents will suffer and die as a result of their votes.

That is, of senior men. Women aged 65+ voted for Harris in higher numbers than women in other age groups, at least according to this analysis:

It’s starting to squeeze republicans, and that’s good. But this whole administration is a misery upon us.

And based on losing $38.9 billion plus gutting healthcare for 600,000 NC people - Tillis can’t make up his mind.

NOT about if it is OK to screw his state and the people who live there - but his concern is that he might lose the next election (that would be bad).

True to his Tea Bagger origins, Tillis’ argument against leaving those 6000,000 North Carolinians without access to Medical Care has more to do with his re-election and the Rethug majority than the moral argument that it is, in fact immoral to gut Medicaid. *Always self serving. The Rightwing way of showing what good christians they are.

You have understood Tillis and his kabuki performance. He always folds in the end. He knows what he should do, but Rethugs are bullies, and he does not have the backbone to stand up for his constituents.

Notice that women 65+ did NOT vote for Trump by a fairly large margin. Women are not that stupid. Well, maybe the 45-64 bunch are, but they are the ones still married to men who bully their thinking. Younger, unmarried women and older widowed or divorced women who can Think For Themselves can spot a fraud when they see one.

Actually, fascists tend to have socialized medicine because fascism seeks to manufacture broad popular support rather than just the support of cadres. But what’s even the point of spending all the money it takes to build an oligarchy if you can’t fleece and flay the peasants and the proles?
