This Supreme Court Case Could Make Or Break The Biden Presidency

This, plus hearing Sinema speak in the Senate just now, …

(And the Planet)? While dire we are not the only country on the planet.

The planet also showed us in 2020 how quickly it does recover from some things. When the world was in lockdown, air pollution disappeared, the canals of Venice turned turquoise blue and had dolphins swimming in them. We could make a huge difference with not a whole lot of effort because the planet will work with us.

Judicial review only a sound principle as long as the court itself isn’t legislating from the bench…

13 would make more sense as it’s enough and aligns with the number of circuit courts, letting each justice oversee a single one, with the most junior ones overseeing the smallest and the most senior ones the biggest. Of course as soon as it can the GOP will increase it to 15, 17 or beyond. But one step at a time. In any case, it’s not going to happen under this congress.

But that wasn’t in the hit musical.

Shades of Andrew Jackson? The Court has made its decision, now let it enforce it, or something along those lines.

I’m from Congress, and I’m here to help.

Anne Gorsuch, who died in 2004, is probably looking up and admiring the handiwork of her son. Revenge is a meal best served cold even if you’ve departed this PFAS-choked superfund site a while back.

I mean, it’s not like there isn’t government overreach in the regulatory arena that should be looked at…

I didn’t even know that there was a regulation, on the books since the 1950s, about what products could call themselves French Dressing…

Oh, and this deregulation was in response to a petition… Filed in 1998

I agree. That’s why I would go big for 15. Let them whine about how it’s too much. But there won’t be anything they can do about it because an increase to 19 or 21 would make them look even more ridiculous.

I think her issue is just narcissism and a desire to stay in office to feed the needs of ner narcissism unmoored to any principle or issue and the extreme confidence in her own analysis that comes with narcissism. Period. By her read, the voters of Arizona will eat this shit up because John McCain mavericky maverickness and she’s as reluctant to risk her career for the good of the country as Kevin McCarthy.

Manchin is just a bad faith saboteur.

The climate disaster will be the final arbiter. Today, we the people have no collective idea how horrendous that is going to be. But by God, the destructionists are gonna make it so.

It’s plain insanity, stupidity, greed and so on.

That seems to be a consumer protection reg. What do you have against consumer protection? What’s wrong with our knowing what we’re getting when we order French dressing - or buy it?

It is a population who is being groomed constantly to question basic science as well as other facts and wisdoms. The grooming is extensive with certain outlets pretty much abandoning any description of being a news provider. They are active sources of propaganda and disinformation. This is a process and not happenstance.

The reason it is hard to counter is the reality based community does not realize they have to sell that reality just as hard.

For example, when is the last time your heard the phrase liberal talk show host? I can name conservative counterparts. Not a one on the other side. Did you say Podcasts? Gimme a break. Fox is spinning fantasies currently by the minute while MSNBC is carefully explaining what was wrong yesterday. Meanwhile the conservative market is just flinging communist and socialist at everyone not conservative and then going on.

One of the more successful campaigns was the rebranding of the ACA, introducing the name Obamacare into the mix. I know people who are using the ACA today but are happy they didn’t get forced into Obamacare. That distinction delayed their usage of the ACA significantly, leaving them with a long gap on badly needed care. I have one friend who is reality based and liberal who shocked the hell out of me recently when she had to ask what the difference was between Obamacare and the ACA. That is in 2021!

Finally, if Biden is a failure it comes down to two people currently.

The best issue for Biden to ignore the courts is about his decision to NOT use “executive privilege”.

That is what is clearly unconstitutional is for the Supreme Court to tell a sitting president when it and not he decides when to invoke executive privilege.

Or to put another way, Biden should declare the courts have NO power to review a sitting presidents decision not to invoke executive privilege and release any and all documents and other evidence the 1/6 commission is seeking that Biden had decided are not protected by executive privilege.

Ahem. That wasn’t rebranding that was the GOP. They named it Obamacare. Obama just embraced it.
