This Supreme Court Case Could Make Or Break The Biden Presidency

Actually, more like this: POTUS loses all sorts of “authority” and “power” that had been delegated and resides primarily in a plethora of agencies and programs that will have to be shut down and eviscerated, leaving the POTUS largely a figurehead with a very reduced scope of authority/power compared to what he has now BUT still with what will amount to 100% control, power and authority over the military, DOJ, foreign relations and a few other major things while the states become dis-united unworkable partisan fiefdoms that have absolutely no reason to get along or work together towards any common goal and, in fact, become outright tooth-and-nail competitors for shares of the economy (i.e. race to the bottom to attract the oligarchs). Meanwhile, Congress is rendered entirely meaningless for lack of any ability to do anything or, in any practical manner, manage anything it would like to do (for example, how the fuck does Congress manage Medicaid/care or SS by itself?). It basically takes the trajectory we’re already on and instantaneously teleports the country to its inevitable destination: a complete sundering of the social fabric, identity and cohesion of the nation and, eventually, an excuse for the executive to use the military to forcefully hold it together under a heavy-handed neofascist federal regime.

Jesus. And here I was just worrying about a fascist dictatorship rather than the complete dissolution of the United States. I may never sleep again.

While Manchin’s clearly a closeted white racist patrician who wants to preserve the rich white Xtian conservative patriarchy and corporate rule, sometimes I wonder if Sinema’s a stealth Stein/Sarandon-style Green who believes that the village has to be burned to the ground before it can be rebuilt. Any indication of that?

RNC is ready to pull out of presidential debates if run by the current commission. Via NYT.

I like it too.

Go ahead and push Roberts and see your court reformed. Finally. You can do a lot of things but you can’t stop the legislature from legislating and they can legislate a different makeup for that damn court.

Good. Everything they do to voluntarily marginalize themselves is a good thing as far as I’m concerned.

It’s official. RNC just declared the GOP and Trump the one and only true leaders of the Imaginary States of Amuruca Made Amuruca Great Again, or ISAMAGA. No further elections need be held, as their outcomes are obvious.

They think they’ve got everything sewn up with voter suppression and gerrymandering. They’re not interested in trying to persuade folks anymore. You’ve mentioned “end game” a number of times. The GOP thinks it’s here and now, by my observation.

Oh, link.

I’m old enough to remember 2010, when the new permanent republican majority took over that was going to last a generation or more…

Whence goes the EPA:

The past seven years have been Earth’s hottest on record, new data shows

Global temperatures in 2021 were at least 1.1 degrees Celsius (2 degrees Fahrenheit) above the pre-industrial average, with 25 countries setting new annual temperature records. New data from three top climate research groups underscores the extent to which human greenhouse gas emissions, primarily from burning fossil fuels, have fundamentally and irrevocably changed the planet.

Oh, sure. But they think they’re in the catbird seat. They’ll make mistakes with that overconfidence.

Could Make Or Break The Biden Presidency (And The Planet)

Wow … that`s a pretty negative headline.

DON`T LOOK UP !

Is it overconfidence, or is it one last shot to hold on by fingernails, since all the demographics are running the wrong way?

Voting rights and court reform by increasing the Court to 15. These should be the focus of the Democrats’ agenda. Dems have 1 year to understand and begin to act with the urgency of America facing a Putin-controlled, GOP enemy that has been sabotaging the country for a decade. I know Dems. need to get around Sinema and Manchin, but when Dems. lose the House, the country is toast.

Perhaps a bit of both. If you’re smart, like corporate marketers, you’ll try to adjust your advertising to appeal to a new demographic of potential buyers. Unfortunately, if the GOP were to do the same, they’d lose a lot of their base. They’re a rat forced into a corner.
