In light of news that State Department officials actively pressed Ukraine to announce a probe into former Vice President Joe Biden in exchange for a White House visit, President Trump is, once again, proclaiming his innocence.
Memo to Trumpers you meet at the local bar, or at Thanksgiving: nothing Trump says has to be truthful unless he’s under oath. Are they anxious for him to testify under oath so he can clear the air once and for all? (We haven’t seen the actual transcripts yet, remember. They’ll come out, just like Nixon’s tapes did.)
And when he’s testifying, here’s Trump’s role model:
This is the end game for Trump. Asking foreign countries to meddle in our elections is okay. It happens all the time (which is sadly true for Trump). In effect, he’s seeking to normalize an impeachable offense. Is this the new GOP talking point? If it is, and Trump isn’t removed from office, we will never have a fair and free election again. Trump will “win” in 2020, regardless of the actual votes.
If you don’t have delivery in your area, should probably make a quick liquor store run… an Impeachment Friday on a week like this should have some interesting developments later.
Working with foreign governments is specifically forbidden in the Constitution, so my question is where are the members of The Federalist Society, the people who “say” they want to go back to the original intent of that document, I know some of the elected Republicans love to tout their bonafides in that group, but I don’t expect anything from the, but where are the others. i.e. Ann Coulter, Sam Alito, Alex Acosta, Orin Hatch, John Roberts etc.?
