A third woman has stepped forward alleging sexual misconduct by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) after two of his former aides publicly accused the governor of workplace sexual harassment, including a forcible kiss, as well.

Things do not look good for the outcome of that investigation, Andy.

I think he’s finished.

Cuomo here, honey.

Even if some 3rd party affirms the complaints, the timing and orchestration of this are just so suspicious. Al Franken affair redux.

Cuomo lost his mojo.

Will his replacement be worse? It may be better to weather the storm. I don’t know.

The Governor seems to not be in touch with the latest information on the impact these behaviors tend to have on the victims and, once revealed, on the political fortunes of the perpetrator.

OK, this is definitely sexual harassment even without the photo.

Welp, I’m gonna say, three strikes and you’re out. Stick a fork in him, he’s done.

While as someone only slightly Cuomo’s junior, and an avid admirer of women of all ages, I can understand his attraction to these women, and being acculturated to the idea that men make advances and women respond (ie, being trained to be a bit of an aggressor), it simply astounds me that at this point - and since well before his rise to the Governorship - Cuomo has not internalized that you simply never, under any circumstances, make a pass at anyone where you have any kind of formal business relationship which puts you or them in a power differential of any kind.

Yes, I know IOKIYAR, and I’m still pissed about Al Franken, but honestly, this is just ridiculous.

Not really. One person comes forward, gets taken seriously, then more do because they don’t feel as afraid of what might happen. It’s not like this came out during his run for President, or for re-election.

We went through this in Virginia, and it was a weak sauce attempt by the GOP to decapitate the Dems and definitely refusing to eat our own was the right answer. However, the difference lies in the fact that the GOP was busy dredging up stuff which was from decades ago (Northam and Herring) and weakly sourced (Fairfax - also older allegations). Still, all three of them are done, even if they rode out their terms. Northam and Herring were best positioned to overcome it because they had the power to do things that demonstrated they weren’t the same person as they were 30+ years ago in terms of racial sensitivity. Fairfax didn’t have the good fortune to either be very visible as Lt. Gov or as much distance between the time of the alleged behavior and the present day.

But this moron is hitting on women now, women who are in a subordinate position. If he’s (like nearly all late-middle aged men) got the hots for mid-20s women, have the good sense to hit on the ones who are in no way connected to your office, or just recognize that - like day-trading your stock account - you have to give up certain pursuits as part of the deal in getting to be Governor.

Bingo. I’m sure some GOP oppo researcher is crying in their beer right now.

An important pillar of the entire Democratic response to the last 4 years is “we’re not like those Republicans. We have higher standards, we don’t just slough off indecent behavior like the GOP. We hold ourselves to the same standards that our constituents are held to in their daily life.”

Given the Access Hollywood tapes and the Me Too movement, it was the right thing to do and the politic thing to do.

Ditto with the Republicans’ covering up and distorting COVID deaths. It was absolutely unconscionable.

So along comes this asshole Cuomo who does both. Thanks, jerk: you’ve given the media the perfect theme of complete equivalency between the parties; “See, they all do it!”

So drop dead, Andrew.

Understand, but I’m still suspicious of the timing and orchestration and I would say that even if Cuomo were a GOPer.

only 22 more to catch up with humpty trumpty

The article that was here about Cuomo yesterday didn’t give any specifics and I hadn’t followed his troubles anywhere else so was asking are we being too sensitive about sexual harassment. However, today, a whole different ballgame hearing this women’s story, complete with a photo. If this is what he was doing also within the office it is totally awful. If you were a young woman and he was your boss, you’d be avoiding him like the plague (or Covid in this case). I just can’t believe the stupidity of men sometimes, get a damn clue.

What orchestration? This is exactly how these things play out organically.

Look at her eyes. And the clenched jaw. Deer caught in the headlights, for sure. This behavior is gross & disgusting in any situation, not simply because it is a workplace!

Of course there should be a proper investigation to rule out political hit jobs. But we’ve got one case that was well documented at the time (texts, emails, job transfers). Quickly followed by other cases that show a consistent pattern. NY should be prepared to replace this guy in the near future.

That’s not even in the workplace! There, it’s two people who just happen to be at the same wedding! And I honestly don’t know if it’s somehow less bad because ‘hey, at least he’s not her boss’ or even worse because ‘dude, it’s a wedding. Don’t get your creep on at a wedding!’

So I’m going with simultaneously both, and just… ewww, cringe.
