Hello it’s the weekend. This is The Weekender
As I run by armed National Guard troops gathered at my metro station, look across the river at the potentially soon-to-be-hijacked public golf course on Hains Point, pass the now-lopsided White House, I think about how easily these things could have been avoided. Democrats, remarkably, had…
Amid all the iran crap, let’s not forget that the Republicans beclowned themselves deposing the Clintons and credible sources have accused Trump of raping children.
FIRST!
Trump appears to think they can decapitate the regime, and hope the iranian people stick their neck out the rest of the way…
I think the best way to make sure they don’t stick their neck out is to have Israel a big part of the face of the operation.
How long until Donnie backs a new Iranian leader who will surrende tanker loads of oil to the regime, which will sell them on the open market and deposit the proceeds into a Qatari bank account under Dear Leader’s control.
For US and Iranian, development, of course.
Maybe reinstall the Shah? I mean, was no problem last time…
With Dear Leader, in the short run, it’s usually a safe bet that his ‘successful’ outcome will appear to be most beneficial to himself, most unsatisfactory to the country suffering from his action and most destructive to relatively detached bystanders.
I’ll make book that the people who most immediately suffer from this war will not be the principals who started it.
I just saw a snippet of an article on Huff Post, that dotard is now claiming he attacked Iran because they interfered in the 2020 election.
Can we impeach him NOW?
Can anyone convince the GQP to put country before party?
This is, after all, the ‘free markets’ party that will sit idly by while Sec. Kegsbreath attempts to extort or kill Anthopic for not providing him with the product he wants (you know, like a same sex wedding cake.)
Of course, what was I thinking? I knew the answer. It’s just too early. ![]()
I believe it was Tim Snyder who said a full fascist takeover would require a war. So that’s a marvelous thing to wake up to. And a useless, unwanted, probable quagmire, at that.
And all it would ever take to stop this madman is a handful of Republicans in Congress. Sigh.
Less than 20 GQP senators, and he’d be gone. 345 million people held hostage by so few
Wow. Way to downplay shit, NYT…

Ismaeel NaarReporting from Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, the president of the United Arab Emirates, spoke with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia by phone on Saturday, according to U.A.E. state media, after the Emirates came under retaliatory Iranian strikes. Prince Mohammed told the Emirati leader that Saudi Arabia would be “placing all its capabilities at its disposal,” to support the Emirates. Relations between the two Gulf neighbors have been strained in recent months.
‘Strained in recent months’. They’ve been fighting a proxy war against one another in Sudan for years.

Yemen, too, also?
Yeah, but the Saudis didn’t just pledge to protect Yemen from Iran.
I believe it requires a successful war actually, which they will not have. But, I am pretty sure they know that.
Instead, it won’t prevent them from asserting it was successful, which would fit with their usual method of operation.
Why can’t we have a Republican administration that does not go into needless wars?
Operation Epstein Furry in full swing at Mar-a-Lago..
Did Donnie install gold plated litter boxes for the event?
Why can’t we have a Republican administration that does not go into needless wars?
Because Ford’s dead?
Trump Claims He’s Ignorant…
Enough said!
