There Was No ‘Quid Pro Quo’ Because Ukraine Didn’t Bend To Demands, McCarthy Argues | Talking Points Memo

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) shifted the goalposts for President Donald Trump again on Wednesday, insisting that there could not have been a “quid pro quo” in Trump’s interactions with Ukraine because Ukraine never buckled to Trump’s demands.

I never realized that the goal post could be moved side-to-side as well as further away.

So, guess attempted bank robbery and attempted murder are now legal.

Boy, is this dumb.

“I gave her the rufies but I didn’t rape her, your honor!”

Trump tried to use his power as Executive to use America’s foreign policy to help him in a domestic political campaign.

That alone is abuse of power! That he failed in his endeavor doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be impeached!

There are many situations where attempting to commit a serious crime is itself treated as a crime. I don’t see why the same kind of relationship shouldn’t hold with High Crimes.

Kevin McCarthy is in way, way over his head because he is so damned dumb, among other things…

So basically, if I offer a cop a bribe to not write me up and he doesn’t take the money, I’m off the hook. Well, OK then…

Here’s a QPQ for you, Kev. If you want me to stop laughing at you, you have to STFU.

Under this formulation,* there’s no crime if I don’t give you my purse when you hold me at gunpoint and demand it. That’s not how it works, Kev. That’s not how any of this works.

*It’s not logic or any sort of reasoning.

The McCarthy more dangerous than the 1950s version.

“No quid pro quo” is the new “no collusion.” It’s a dodge that ignores the reality by implying that something immaterial is important. If Ukraine had acquiesced to Trump’s demands, then it could have been a “quid pro quo” situation, but regardless of whether they did or not, it was still attempted extortion by the president against Ukraine.

Bakersfield is not exactly a hotbed of intellectualism. Neither is Visalia.

Don’t worry, we’ll do a collective Sgt. Schultz, should you get “entrapped” into anything … um … questionable.

I was wondering - is he that dumb or is he so dirty that he has no choice but to brass it out?
Do they realize, or have anyone in their lives that can tell them, how ridiculous they look?
Then again, dumb and dirty are not mutually exclusive.
