There’s Still No ‘Master Plan’ For COVID-19 Response, Whistleblower Says | Talking Points Memo

A whistleblower recently ousted from a key research office said repeatedly Thursday that the Trump administration still has no government-wide plan to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.

Listen… Trump has a plan. We just have to elect him again before he will share it with us.

Just like 2016.

Dr. Bright quoting a colleague on trump preparedness: “We’re in deep shit.”.
The beauty of his testimony is that it was very reserved and to the point…not trying to make emotional points.

This is a post of mine from another thread. I don’t mind if it’s attacked. In fact, I want that. Attacks often yield positives.

["There should have been two sister activities from the Federal Government:

(1) A sustained stipend of salary-level financial assistance for working people…for the transition to:

(2) A Work Modification Program in which work would be quickly analyzed in terms of modification potential. The idea being that some work can be continued with far less modification (like working from home) and on the other extreme require substantial modifications (or termination), like conventional indoor restaurants.

In between the two extremes would be a number of work environments which could be modified with a focus on safe Covid protocols

There are enough creative people in this country who could do this. The problem is Trump and Mitch McConnell"]

But we’ll have to do him a favor, though.

The bestest plan ever.

I know. I’ve been sleeping so much better knowing he defeated ISIS in the first 30 days of his administration.

The GOP is beginning to appear more and more like the Morlocks in H.G. Wells’ “The Time Machine”. When do you suppose they’ll start eating the rest of us?

Why, I ask, couldn’t this have been said loud and often for at least the last 6 weeks. Yeah, lots of us agree and know how it’s been going, but lots do not. Instead what we’ve constantly heard from is Liar in chief spewing one falsehood after another. At least if we had had equal time instead of basically no time in front of the cameras.

I just watched video of people flooding into bars in WI and here’s what I really need someone to help me understand: Where the fuck do people think the virus went? Do they think the coast is clear now that we stayed home for a couple of months? Or are they so chocked full of privilege and entitlement that they think it just won’t happen to them? My ass will be in this house until we get a cure, effective treatment, or vaccine.

Not only not a “master plan” there is no fucking plan of any kind.

The abdication of responsibility by the Trump administration in favor of magical thinking is just mind-blowing.

We are in a war, but the commander in chief is acting like a combo of Benedict Arnold and Lloyd Fredendall. Selling out the Country while cowering in his bunker as far away from the fight as possible.

Sit even a total retard like Louis Gomhert would have done a better job than Trump has.

They don’t have it, no one they know has died from it, therefore it doesn’t exist. Time to hit the bars and beaches.

Suddenly during Dr Bright’s hearing today, Trump et, al came up with a pandemic plan they developed all on their own!

REALLY?

Bright sounds too sensible, and presents positions that are well thought out and logical.

He’ll never get anywhere in this administration if he insists on acting like this.
