The Zombie Mueller Case That Just Won’t Die | Talking Points Memo

It was the case that was never supposed to go anywhere.

When special counsel Robert Mueller first unveiled a federal grand jury indictment against several Russian individuals and entities accused of using social media to manipulate the 2016 election, the conventional wisdom was that none of the defendants would ever show up in court to fight the case.

Putin’s Chef and the Criminal IMPeetus+RethugniCON Party has something in common…subpoena defiance, thuggish legal defense and attacks on judge(s)…

So who is aping who? Or is the Criminal IMPeetus taking lessons from his puppeteer?
AND
What will Coverup Barr whine to the Criminal IMPeetus about “doing his job” now?

ICYMI = Putin’s Chef = IRA troll farmer and more…

the Justice Department has requested that Concord Management be held in contempt for blowing off judge-approved trial subpoenas

Now the government wants the court to sanction Concord Management for allegedly stiffing the DOJ on subpoenas issued ahead of trial

Almost sounds like the will play the tRump controlled DOJ against itself regarding these subpoenas.

Sessions was a lousy human being but he had the sense to recuse himself. Rosenstein was … Rosenstein. And now there’s Barr.

One would like to think it cannot get worse.

On to November!

Without commenting on the case itself, this story is one of many that serve of examples of how prominent and well-regarded TPM is in the media world. It’s often cited by some really smart cookies out there in the commentariat. It’s a thing to remember when we don’t care for a headline or ask why a particular thing was made a story. It’s also a thing to remember when they ask for financial support. You could do worse. Just saying.

Judge is an imPotus appointee. Looks like she won the booby prize.

Whether it’s actual interference by Lowbarr or a cost-benefit analysis, at some point DOJ will probably drop the charges and Concord will be able to scream, “exonerated” “witch hunt” “good guys”, etc.

It appears that we have lawyers behaving badly here. Is there any action their Bar Association can take?

Complain.

Well golly. Who could have predicted that allowing folks to ignore subpoenas would turn out to mean they could get away with anything?

Oh Well. Guess it’s the new normal.

Wonder who’s going to make it to the playoffs this year?

It will be another test of Concord Management’s willingness to make life miserable for the DOJ prosecutors handling the case.

Concord’s lawyers are one thing. These prosecutors had better be watching their backs as well.
