We’ve had various forms of white supremacy here since the whites arrived. Makes sense that this facet of Americana gets exported along with jazz and Big Macs.

I can’t help but think this reflects the level of intellectual development of these groups. Horrifically, that doesn’t mean they can’t inflict serious damage, particularly in the U.S. with broad access to guns.

Much like Communism, the answer is most likely containment, but they’re embedded almost everywhere so we’ll need everyone working together to put them in the dustbin of history where they belong.

Most Communists weren’t suicidal, particularly the USSR. At some point in the 1960s, the Russian ideology czars concluded that since (a) Marx said that world communism is deterministically going to “liberate” the working class, and (b) a nuclear exchange with the US would “liberate” the working class in the sense that radioactive dust is “liberated”, therefore a nuclear war was impossible. And containment by NATO was basically an outer containment vessel. If the Red Army had ever moved on Europe, all of the Warsaw Pact countries would have changed sides, and our friend Nicolai Ceausescu in Romania would have launched a pincer down the Transfăgărășan highway. And the Europeans would have fought to the death against a very stoned and unmotivated Red Army, who would have run out of ammo after two days because Russian logistics just weren’t there.
American neo-Nazis are fanatical but I can’t think they really have the support they have, and they know it. European Nazis are genuinely scary and are well connected. (There are numerous reported instances of German officers giving “heil Hitler” salutes when nobody is looking.)
