The Supreme Court on Monday declined to take up a Texas emergency abortions case, further muddying the waters on what doctors in states where the procedure is outlawed should do when faced with patients in dire need of medical care — and raising more questions about what exactly the high court thinks it is doing…
Donald Trump, while you try to run away from this, you own it. You have no principles other than your own personal, political, self-righteous and selfish goals. You are corrupt to the core!
I’ll grant you this, and I’ll add another (about De Satan refusing to take a call from VP Harris about the situation with the new Hurricane Milton, or the earlier Helene, who knows?):
Ron De Santis, while you try to run away from this, you own it. You have no principles other than your own personal, political, self-righteous and selfish goals. You are corrupt to the core!
Thank you for your inspiration and words. You said it, brother!
I am hoping at some point someone is able to take legal action on the behalf of women that die because they were denied care. There has to be a case somewhere that will go to SCOTUS and demonstrate just how wrong-headed this perception is: the one that says we don’t know what qualifies as appropriate for an abortion, but we’ll know it when we see it (which will be never).
Someone, please, start the litigation.

It’s as if they want to hand tens of millions of outraged women (and men!) yet another reason to crawl over broken glass to vote against the guy who killed Roe…
Trump will win Texas comfortably.
The attacks on abortion should be existential for the Republican party. I fail to see how they can possibly obtain a coalition that approaches 50% of the population, when their active policy is to deny basic rights to 50% of the population.
Of course, this is a failure on my part. I assume good faith, and I am baffled by bad faith, and by voters who specifically vote to make their own life’s worse. I don’t understand it, and the more I try, the less I understand it.
I read their Bible, but it doesn’t say what they say it says. I listen to their arguments, but all of their imagined problems are just that: imaginary. Listening to a wealthy person complaining about people they don’t know getting benefits they don’t need is baffling. Why do they care?
I don’t get it, and I’m tired of trying. I am tired of the stories of women dying because of Republicans and their bad ideas. My heart is sick, and it breaks whenever I leave the house and see all the Trump signs, because I live where it is not safe to publicly support anyone but Trump.
Sorry. Needed to offload.
It is my sincere hope that any state Trump wins, he does not win comfortably.
If you think reaction to coming news cycles on this will be limited to Texas – let alone the righteous hellfire that candidate Harris (who knows all about her chances in Texas) is gonna light over this, from one end of the campaign trail to the other – then you’re not quite following what’s been posted.
Maybe start by sending their medical bills directly to the SC.
As is said, the cruelty is the point.
Deep down inside, the six fascists are voyeurs of sadism. It gives them pleasure, Thomas, Alito, and Roberts especially, to know that women are suffering because of them.
It is my sincere hope that TMF lives out his putrid existence very uncomfortably.
It is extremely unfortunate that women are going to be hurt by this.
But Roberts and the other fascists are tilting the electoral landscape against the Rs.
I am not sure if they don’t see that, or they know it’s inevitable and are just burning what they can.
Looking to the future, Ma!
Lawyers, judges and justices aren’t trained in medicine and should leave medical decisions to doctors and their patients.
That’s a great way to think about it, eallenii! Thank you.
And if we add in the substantial percentage of that other 50% that actually really truly loves women and cares deeply about their health, happiness, and welfare…man, aren’t we home free by now?
Nope. We all need to keep in mind that the US currently works with an electoral system that specifically does NOT require 50 percent (or even a plurality of the votes cast) to elect someone President. Until we trash that, we must remain constantly on guard against these assholes who specifically tell us that they don’t support a “democracy” because we’re a “republic”.
So, perhaps once Kamala and Tim are elected we can start recruiting “work from home” types to move to places like Wyoming, where even a few tens of thousands of additional liberal votes can turn things around. Once we get the overall control, we can rebuild the system to be truly democratic. If we do, can I put in a good word for “ranked choice voting”?
when a woman is sick enough for doctors to intervene
All representatives are currently busy. If this is an actual emergency, call the Supreme Court for confirmation. Otherwise, please note the following menu…
Press 1 for the Court to consider a refill.
Press 2 for the Court’s list of approved books
Press 3 if you’re President trying to stop insurrection
Because the care needed, you know, is an EMERGENCY - a fuckin’ emergency.
So let’s just put that on hold, OK?
Trump actually stinks, is hideously ugly and disgustingly unattractive and quite stupid too. I agree with you, but Trump doesn’t care about those things you point out about his absent character. Always attack Trump about the only things that matter to him. He thinks corruption and selfishness are the way the world works and he has worked that system perfectly (he is not entirely wrong there). He is a mental and emotional defective. And he has been and may be again the president of the USA. Shit.
I’ll just hafta walk to my mail box. No glass involved for my mail in ballot.
