The Race To Try Trump Before The Election Reaches Critical Stage

You can see how most people who reside in Europe would be fluent in a number of languages. Particularly in the Schengen era where traveling between countries has become the norm. As far as Americans are concerned, if a typical American citizen is fluent in another language it’s a big deal. Across the street from me the public school has ESL classes that are well attended.
Beginning in the Newt era you had Republican congress members who would brag about not going on overseas junkets. They used their ignorance about the rest of the world as a source of pride. This infuriated me because how are they supposed to legislate if you don’t know what is occurring in the world?

It makes sense to me that morbid obesity would be an ICD diagnosis, because of the serious health effects. But like moderately elevated glucose, blood pressure, or cholesterol levels do not need always need treatment, mild or moderate obesity does not make for a “disease” all by itself.

trump only has a minority interest in 40 Wall Street and it’s heavily mortgaged and possibly underwater in any event. But yeah, the public relations disaster of getting a bunch of properties auctioned to satisfy the NY judgment would be huge.

The judgments and his ensuing liquidity crunch are also likely to put him and his companies in violation of any number of loan covenants. If his lenders start crashing down on him too, he’s in a lot of trouble. It only takes one or two to take action before there would be a rush.

OK then. It doesn’t change that the AF is still a hotbed of KKKristofascism…or that he is clearly a KKKristofascist…or that him being in uniform for a campaign event violates the codes and Hatch Act, etc.

They were ordered to appear at Mango’s campaign event in uniform as a dare to DOD and the Biden administration to enforce the rules, at which point MAGAt KKKult will go fucking nuts with claims that Biden is selectively prosecuting and punishing our men and women in uniform for their beliefs and support of Mango.

This was a show of being Mango’s private army. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don’t want to give Donnie too much credit, but I did wonder if fears about his own properties value might have influenced the ways he failed to adequately deal with covid and contributed to its spread.

Sounds about right - but he will appeal, that’s not dependent on putting a bond up. I think he’s finally realized he can’t raise the collateral for the bond, so he’ll go after the delay delay delay tactics when Caroll and the NY AG come after him.
I’m sure they’ll lien the crap out of everything, but paradoxically this is less of an issue than it would normally be as he’s in the unfortunate position of having to conduct business honestly for once.

None of this stops MBS from massively overpaying for one property to help his serf out, but it would be transparent. Though that’s not stopped the money laundering in plain site before - see the prior Russian deal in Palm Beach - the tl;dr is he bought it for $40M and flipped it for $95M within a year or two, which was way more than it was ever worth

Yes! Even though the Goopers held the House and the Newtster won re-election, he was shown the door pretty damn quick (hard to believe that was 26 years ago).

We’ve never had a test of the “they’ll come home” hypothesis with a candidate like trump. Right now, about 30-40% of Republican primary voters are saying nope to trump, and they’ve all got full knowledge of exactly who he is and how he behaves as president. Basically nobody is voting for Nikki Haley. Her voters are voting against donald trump. That seems significant to me.
