The other driver behind this amendment is the Gannon decision that mandated the legislature to adequately and fairly fund public education. The GOP can’t tolerate this idea, and their Senate majority leader/gubernatorial candidate, Ty Masterson, has said flatly that the amendment will help them get justices that won’t force them to spend money on schools. And, of course, as with the abortion amendment in 2022, they put a constitutional amendment question on a primary ballot rather than the general in order to get a more favorable result.

Here is how MO deals with judges.
When judges do come up for elections I tend to rely on League of Women’s Voter’s to do my research. And instead of seeing the judge as politician running in an election I see it as job review.
