Nazi Party, officially the National Socialist German Workers’ Party.
Most Americans have no idea what socialist means. (As a William Morris Socialist and a general anachronism, I’m well aware.)
How well did Bernie’s people do in 2018? Where was our Blue Wave 2020? What memes did Trump use to sell his brand of hate and – above all – fear?
We have to honestly examine these. What is critically needed is a united Democratic Party. If young people and activists show up at local meetings, this would be a good start. This is the place for this work.

Who wrote this verbose screed? The GOP? RNC? Trump’s boys? If the Democrats want to be perennial losers they’ll use the term “Socialist” and debate among themselves if “they have moved to far to the left”. The term Democratic Socialist, a stupid phase coined by Bernie is a killer. Keep using it or identifying with it and you lose. The word “social” and it’s derivatives are now hopelessly toxic and cannot be rehabilitated. It’s true that the toxicity comes from bullshit cast at them by the political tight but that jobs done and cannot be undone.
Need convincing? Read the crap above. Sander’s intention was to be a socially oriented politician. To fight to move government’s focus on the lower rungs on the socioeconomic ladder from its laser focus on the donor class where it is today. Like “social security” a program that in no way wants capitalism overthrown, Bernie’s use of the word was also not a repudiation of capitalism. It was used to describe a reset of that system so that more benefited from it. To redistribute opportunity in America ( redistribute now toxic as well ) . Good ideas but he was stupid enough to use the word socialist. So it’s done and so is he. Read the bit and catch the overthrow capitalism bullshit in it. That’s what the phase means now no matter what its original intent was. So fucking stop using it!
