THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — In cities around the world, public transit systems are key to getting workers back on the job and restarting devastated economies, yet everything from trains and buses to ferries and bicycles will have to be re-imagined in the coronavirus era.
Stagger the work hours of employees in order to reduce the human flow density from the rush hour maximum.
Increase the frequency and quantity of trains and train cars in subways so that a LOT fewer people are allowed into each car and spacing between individuals is enforced.
Enforce the use of masks and gloves. PPE for everyone. Temperature checks for everyone. If possible, accurate real-time coronavirus testing kits for everyone would be a humongous plus, but certain politicians can’t allow that because it would show how incredibly stupid and feckless they are; I’m staring at you, IMPOTUS.
Increase the number of transit workers who sanitize/sterilize public transportation.
And for the love of all that’s holy, get rid of the permanently embedded smell of drunkards’ piss. Lick the floor, IMPOTUS.
