Just because Trump’s brain-trust believes it can factor out certain people in apportionment doesn’t make it so. Would have to also un-count people in local prisons too. (And that isn’t done).

One of the first things Democrats need to do should the 2020 election occur and not be fixed is change the makeup of the Supreme Court especially in regard to its Chief Injustice John Roberts.
That is anyone who thinks just because the constitution is crystal clear on an issue matters one bit to 5 members of the Supreme Court must have been asleep last week when the “Roberts Court” denied voting rights to 1,400,000 American citizens mostly of color because it would hurt Republicans hold on power both in Florida and the nation.
That is so long as Moscow Mitch, Chief Injustice Roberts and Putin puppet Donald Trump are in power, democracy does not exist and the constitution is not worth the paper on which it is written.

So now Trump is even above the rulings of the Supreme Court.
This needs to be understood as the attack on the judiciary that it is. Groups like the Federalist Society and ALEC have long been at the forefront of a coordinated campaign to rewrite the Constitution through judicial decisions, inventing legislation and executive actions that they believe have the ability to superficially, colorably pass judicial muster while recruiting ideologue candidates to infiltrate the judiciary who will go along with it.
A good example of the effort, and one in which it likely has its roots, was the reactionary effort to turn racist discrimination and segregation into a religious belief and practice in order to immunize it from regulation and enforcement under the First Amendment. This EO and a host of other nonsensical bullshit is no different. It is written and enacted providing the false, superficial, incorrect legal justification for its existence and the authority it supposedly rests upon so that a corrupted, co-opted judiciary can simply adopt that psedo-legal reasoning in a decision giving it the legal imprimatur. It is specifically and conspiratorially designed to hand the Raos and Alitos a ready made opportunity to rewrite America to give the GOP permanent power.
So, I’d like to know exactly what “government records” exist regarding who is or is not here in violation of the law. Just another desperate move by 45 to buoy up his support with the base. Nah. Gunna. Work.

This is a response to Rump’s assertions that Obama and Biden cut off testing for H1N1.
While this is bad, as are all the things Trump does, remember that it’s another distraction to remove attention from 140,000 people dead, mostly thanks to Trump.

I’m sorry, but who’s trying to “rewrite history” and “erase our Civil War heritage”?

Recall that Trump installed two political appointees, really right wing nuts, to oversee the Census process. And, they are asking for $1 billion to complete the Census process by the end of the year, so that apportionment goes out to the states by then. This is a plan that has been in motion for a while now, and it’s totally intended to allow Republicans to keep power. They are working hard to push this through before Biden takes over and shuts it all down, or the Democrats get Congress and revise the law to force the count to work the way it’s supposed to.
The thing they haven’t thought through is that it’s going to be rules unconstitutional if it gets into the courts…there’s just no way to rule otherwise (and if it goes to the SC and they rule this is fine that will pretty much be the last straw and the SC will see changes). And, when it is ruled unconstitutional, any state actions taken based on it will be undone…that means Republicans just might try a power play and watch it all evaporate, and lose even more because of their newest effort to cheat.
They really should hope that Biden wins and shuts this down before it hits the courts, that way they get the “benefit” of egging their base on with yet another racist maneuver without the pain of losing in court and watching their changes be undone.
Interesting, I was wondering the other day if the chief justice could be demoted by act of Congress, even if he remains on SCROTUS, since only the judicial appointment itself is for life. And could Justice Bart O’Kavanaugh be re-assigned to a different court – like the Maritime Court of Appeals (which, if it doesn’t exist could be created just for Bart)?
