I quit watching pretty early on. The audience should have been silenced. It had the vibe of a high school pep rally. Some like Pence sounded like they were at a church revival. The Republican Party should be dissolved.

The debate opened with a focus on the economy, as Fox News moderators Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum played a clip of the viral conservative folk hit Rich Men North of Richmond, in which country artist Oliver Anthony describes his economic struggles while lamenting poor people “milkin’ welfare”.

Also from The Guardian.

Poor people may or may not be “milkin’”, but Anthony ain’t thinkin’.

Chris Christie spends most of his time touring media trying to create the impression he’s the sole sane, mainstream Republican in the race. Then last night he lets us know he may believe the Earth is flat and 6000 years old.

holy shit. Moderators ask for a show of hands of how many candidates believe in human-caused climate change. Not a single candidate raises their hand.
