The Man Behind The State Department Inspector General’s Urgent Allegations | Talking Points Memo

It sounds like Trump’s man at State won’t be going back to Wilmer Hale, or any other law firm, when this is finished, at least not as a lawyer. I can’t discount the possibility that he’ll get a gig as a legal proofreader or word processor, many of which are hired by large firms, if he remains unindicted.

Sounds like a nothing burger. Too bad for Trump, now all we have left to read about/hear about is Trump monumental break down on National TV. Bummer for them.

Joe Biden better get his Google machine out & enter “Not Replying to Swift Boat Allegations”

Pronto.

From what I am reading from comments made about Raskin’s remarks it sounds to me like String is trying give Republican talking points to Republicans on the committee. That is String and Linick managed to capture the imagination of the media last night an today provided debunked conspiracy nonsense about Joe Biden to Congress so Republicans can use the information to argue that Trump is being treated unfairly and the real crimes needed to be investigated are of Joe Biden and the Democrats.

This seems like more of Trump and Republican defense against impeachment strategy which is mostly to just throw stuff against the wall and see what sticks, spill milk on the stoop and see if the cat licks it up or run it up the flag pole and see if anyone salutes it.

Enough with the brainstorming clichés, but so far the only defense to Trump and Republican’s using their offices to benefit themselves at the expense of America is to say words on paper do not say what in fact they do say and try to bring Biden down to Trump’s level as it is impossible to bring Trump up to any level above the sewer.

So, what exactly was so urgent that the committee heads and their staffs and as many committee members as were still in town had to all meet to hear this important stuff that was so urgent it could not wait??

The article intimates something about “deep state” , other conspiracies and a massively inexperienced legal counsel are involved

Its urgent for the Whitehouse to give Republicans talking points especially those on the committees involved in Trump’s impeachment.

Nixon did kindergarten-level stuff, clearly…

This is very strange, especially that someone like Linick would go along. Maybe he didn’t know what was in there? Seems unlikely. But the incompetent and completely amateur method/content sounds like Guiliani - Pompeo seems brighter but apparently not.

LOL! Infuriating, but ultimately oh so laughable. I haven’t even seen this pop up on Faux News’ website yet and I’m 100% certain it’s because this is so fucking cartoonish that they’re in a board room somewhere throwing turds at each other while screeching like macaques because nobody can come up with, much less agree on, a messaging strategy that will actually make this look even remotely credible.

The question I have though is what was the IG up to. Does anyone have any idea if he was (a) pretending this was credible and needed to be looked into or (b) “urgent and serious” because it was such a bag of batshit obstruction of justice idiocy?

The Deep State is a bit too professional to be taken down this easily.

Trump hotel branding!?!? Welp, that would be par for this crowd of amateurs. Seem the urgency was " golly gee look over here everyone!!! SHINY OBJECT IN VIEW!!! So then, what were they diverting attention from??
Edit
I had hopes for something juicy.

IG is inexperienced Trumpette, yes? Then I’d go with (a).

WaPo breaking news: Trump involved Pence in efforts to pressure Ukraine’s leader, though aides say vice president was unaware of pursuit of dirt on Bidens.

Hmmm. Someone wants to keep Q-tip clean.

The “urgency” of this smelled bad from the beginning.

Obviously, “someone” isn’t supposed to fill the shoes.

Why the Fuck do they call things that are weeks-old news “breaking”?

FFS, Pence met on 1 September with Zelensky in Poland, it’s been known since this story first broke that they spoke about the Ukrainian investigations…

Maybe they wanted to stress Biden part? Maybe new strategy from MM?

Naw… It’s just the typical annoying overuse of the “Breaking News” by all of them now… “Breaking News” was fucking 9/11. It’s not the release of some years-long study on whatever.

I remember everybody criticizing Kerry for precisely that and “taking the high road” when it was thought then that he should have pushed back. What’s a candidate to do?
