Already underway, imho, as the world is lacking a staunch democratic leadership. Human rights violations are on the rise around the globe, even Western Democracies are under attack. The chaos and destabilization is coming from those seeking expansion and power.
Migration occurs for a number of reasons hunger, strife, injustice, etc… Usually caused by those trying to divide and conquer. In a normal world anyone should be able to move freely, those with means usually do. The forced migration we’re seeing is caused by avarice and a desire to dominate.
The solution or answer to this long standing problem is many faceted, many people have lived and died without finding a resolution. Honestly, from a human rights standpoint what is in our Declaration of Rights (Independence) is a great start. Along with other Democracies in the world, using diplomacy, education, soft power…
Yeah right, who do I think I’m fooling, other than my self. But, if we don’t bring about the necessary changes, it’s not going to be pretty.
Don’t we already have lots of Americans “invading” other countries? I’ve seen several declarations by folks who post here that they are leaving, or have already moved, to other nations to get away from the US. Heck, I know of a few in my own neighborhood who have fled the country for greener pastures.
Lots of old folks would rather have a sweet retirement than have to stay and resist, with all the risk that could entail. Let the kids fight, or not. What. Ever.

It seems fairly obvious that the far right, having a big overlap with hate groups in general, has tried to identify immigrants as an invading force since at least the first part of the first Trump administration. There’s even an article on Wikipedia entitled Central American Migrant Caravans–I cannot vouch for its accuracy–and how the movement was used by the Trump administration for propaganda purposes. What is alarming is how the far right’s insistence on migration constituting an invasion makes it seem perfectly natural to MAGAts that Trump would have to call up the military or invoke the “Alien Enemies Act” of 1798 against non-invading individuals or families who are merely seeking a better life.
