Jail the bastards! If you can’t jail 'em at least impeach 'em.
And why was this Alito news buried for so long?
ETA Hey Martha, if Clarence and Ginni show up in their Prevost Marathon you’ll know why they’re there.
Note: Martha is Alito’s wife.
Expand the court, damnit. Until we grasp the fact that expanding the court (15? 25?) is the ONLY solution to rolling back the packing that has taken place over the last eight years, we will simply have more of the same. Expand the court! Jesus.
What the Alabama Gestapo chief attorney general wants is analogous to:
the Dred Scott decision, whereby someone deprived of rights in Alabama cannot exercise those rights in another state. If Trump is elected and the GOP controls both Houses, they would presumably enforce the new Dred Scott decision –
with a federal Fugitive Slave Act, whereby Alabama could compel another state to surrender for prosecution an Alabama resident who sought an abortion in that state.
This story’s important to flag
Our Democracy’s starting to flag
This truth we must face
We’ve reached a dark place
A Supreme flew an upside-down flag
Really?
As assumptions go, the opposite is at least as likely w/ the Alitos being a case in point.
Remember Alitos weeping wife during his confirmation hearings. “Sam is no bigot”. Judging from this incident you could say that both of them scripted that bit of performance art.
Even Justice Hugo Black who was a Klan member in Alabama and expressed anti Catholic and anti Black sentiments was able to put his past prejudices aside for the decades that he was on the court. He didn’t show up at the court wearing the pointy hat or engage in cross burnings after hours. By the time he retired he was a highly regarded civil libertarian and rights advocate. The same cant be said for Alito.
“I had no involvement whatsoever in the flying of the flag. It was briefly placed by Mrs. Alito in response to a neighbor’s use of objectionable and personally insulting language on yard signs.”
… to heart. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/style-rule…
My 5’3" senior citizen wife could beat Gaetz to a pulp. That boy has seesawed his weight so often his arms probably have bat wings. He’s so brave standing there with 400 law enforcement officers.
I thought the neighbor was insulting Trump? Has Sammy switched his allegiance from JC to DJT as his savior?
ETA: and whatever happened to “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”?
The House fight video was amazing. Watching Jamie Raskin’s face when Rep. Crockett went after Greene–chef’s kiss.
MTG should learn the rule that AOC and Crockett know by heart: never fight a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent. But MTG doesn’t have the intelligence.

WSJ: Trump Allies Draw Up Plans for Unprecedented Immigration Crackdown
TPM, you might want to give us a brief summary of the relevant points in the piece, assuming there are no other publications with similar information. Otherwise, Rupert Murdoch gets clicks; we get a paywalled site.

How Extremist Settlers Took Over Israel - The New York Times (archive.ph)
This is SUPERB journalism, strongly recommended. So now that the NY Times has demonstrated its ability to do great reporting like on far-right extremism in ANOTHER country, how about it does the same in OUR country, namely to the MAGA movement???)
Lost cos play
Oh, but chief Justice of the Supreme Court Samuel Alito is such a respectable insurrectionist. Same goes for Clarence Thomas. Certainly, we should carve out rules to allow these people to tear our democracy to shreds. They are important people. I am sure that they have our nations best interest at heart. They must know more than us… /s
… as long as you do it in style.
Who else would Abbott pardon? Posthumous pardons for the murderers of James Byrd? Lee Harvey Oswald? Charles Whitman?
The Washington Post buried the Alito flag story. I had to use the search function to find it. If we had any doubt that William Lewis, Murdoch’s trainee would take the newspaper to MAGAland, we seem to have our answer.
