The Republican Party, the old one of law and order, the former one of projecting power overseas and of a strong defense, is dead. RIP. And good riddance. They have morphed in a collection of criminals. They are now far closer to the Republican Party of Sen. Joseph McCarthy than people realize, because nowadays US citizens don’t actually think and far too few know history.
The Republicans have chosen as their candidate a convicted criminal (34-0, lots of winning there) as well as a convicted rapist. He is also clearly guilty, based on evidence in the public realm, of illegally hoarding classified documents (in his bathroom of all places, talking about yet another psychological abnormality) and will be found guilty of his contribution to the January 6th insurrection.
But the new Republican Party falls in line and supports him? Why? Make them answer the question. Not spout nonsense, but challenge them to actually answer the questions. Until then, these are serious times and the Republican Party is undermining this Nation.
So what are the the latest under/over betting odds that Trump will duck the first debate?
Which has now morphed into naming things after TSF (see NYTimes article I mentioned above). Some rep (Paul Gosar I think) wants the Treasury to issue a $500 bill with TSF’s image on it. He also wants it to be orange (like Monopoly money).
Considering how many hours of video from the insurrection have yet to be released, Democrats should use this footage to remind voters of the January 6 nightmare when we all sat horrified while the Capitol was overrun by a violent mob. People need to be reminded. Every day.
Mike Johnson is the real danger. He is a full-on religious lunatic who will say anything to make America Christian. Whether in or out this guy is the Speaker or the following Speaker for the next 10-20 years.
He is a prize in that role for the real lunatic shites that are gathering everywhere. He has an endless supply of unaccountable money, and he is a preacher for the SBC, who demanded a Civil War, then maintained apartheid in this country for 100 years after they lost it.
That’s not a burning statue of Ganesh on your lawn, though the people that placed it there were more than capable of the whittlin’.

The tone of the edited six-minute tape of the conversation with Mrs. Alito is at variance with news reports. Ms. Windsor comes across as a pushy and vaguely hysterical fangirl meeting an idol. Clearly she was acting out her idea of a Christian and conservative, which is a revved-up nut. Mrs. Alito’s mistake was responding in an egalitarian manner and not breezing past the nut with a quick, false smile.
OMG the drinks did it . During what appears to have been the drinks portion of the evening the activist, called Lauren Windsor, secretly taped private conversations with Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Samuel Alito and Justice Alito’s wife, Martha-Ann. Ms. Windsor dishonestly presented herself as a conservative Christian. She goaded and baited the Alitos, hoping to get them to say extreme and stupid things, which she would later disseminate on social media.
The Alitos and Chief Justice Roberts didn’t do or say anything wrong. But there was something quite inhuman in what the left-wing activist did. She treated human beings as if they were mere means to her end. She acted out admiration to perform reputational harm. She presented herself falsely to inflict damage. That the content she produced was disseminated by honest grown-up journalists is to their discredit.
