For Dems, the ‘Good News and Bad News’ regarding George Santos is that he isn’t going anywhere! Given the glacial speed at which investigations against pols move, and his own survival incentives, he is likely to serve a full 2-year term.
However — per the White House, no president in recent history has logged who comes and goes from their private home. Those records are only kept for official locations like the White House.
So many things I like on Morning Memo that I’d like more info on. But I don’t even bother anymore. They’re inevitably behind a paywall. Just give us a few details instead of just the headline David.
It’s more than just ‘Bothsiderism’. Modern political reporting must have 2 credible political parties to survive. They can’t admit that while Dems are not perfect, virtually all the current dysfunction in our political system is due to the Republican Party.
I said previously, that in certain ways Santos reminds me of Woody Allen’s character in his movie Zelig.
Zelig is a 1983 American mockumentary film written, directed by and starring Woody Allen as Leonard Zelig, a nondescript enigma, who, apparently out of his desire to fit in and be liked, unwittingly takes on the characteristics of strong personalities around him.
Santos seems to accumulate the experiences, successes, and characteristics of the last person he spoke to. Someone he spoke to played volleyball, so George claimed that he was a volleyball star. Someone he spoke to had a knee replacement, so George had two knew replacements, etc…
