Hello it’s the weekend. This is The Weekender One feature of MAGA authoritarian planning is its ineptitude. Think back to January 6: yes, it was a coup attempt — the violent culmination of a multi-month campaign to reverse the election result. But, it was also oddly lackadaisical: it’s still unclear if there was one…
have been broadcasting their not-so-secret plan to ransack the federal government and make this shutdown as “painful” as possible for Democrats — and the people who vote for them
AND how exactly do the propose to hurt only Democrats? These guys are idiots.
“If [Democrats] don’t want further harm on their constituents back home, then they need to reopen the government,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt
Same question for this BIBMO… how do you prevent from hurting the MAGAt constituents back home.
Have you’ve ever, NOT, watched the big game (whatever sport) when the local team is in it? Or been awake at midnight on NYE but not paying attention to the time?
You can hear the roar of celebration anyway.

One of my local postal workers is a roided-out, tatted-up muscle head who’s perpetually in a bad mood. Any time I cross paths with him he’s got right-wing radio or podcasts playing. I’m sure that in his mind, when Republicans talk about mass layoffs of public sector workers, they mean “those people” and not him.
I voluntarily stopped alcohol in 2003. When he goes I’ll partake of 1/4 oz of very fine bourbon saved for this. Then spend some time thinking about JD and what he will do.
The reports suggested ICE was planning to send “offer” letters to unaccompanied children in the immigration system 14 years and older, where they would be promised $2,500 in return for waiving their rights to see an immigration judge.
It was also claimed that if children refused the offer they would be detained upon turning 18 and their family members living in the U.S. would also be arrested. Plans to threaten detention or arrest have not been independently verified by LAist.
This is not a surprise: halting altogether is much easier and requires far less attention than blocking piecemeal and if nothing else the incompetents of the Trump administration prefer that; i.e., it’s a feature, not a bug.
