A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo. Sign up for the email version. A Paradigm Shift From Public Corruption To … What Exactly? By now you’ve seen the broad outlines of the indictment of NYC Mayor Eric Adams. Five counts – conspiracy, wire fraud, solicitation of a campaign…
I refuse to accept the award of First.
So. Any Hannibal Lecter sightings today?
Glad to see MM showing up early the past couple of days. Yay!
The trend in polling is still looking good for Kamala. TSF could well get smoked on 11/5.
Sad news, Maggie Smith has passed.
Will you accept it for Frist, then?
Almost.
That post is right on!!!
Come for the Stringer Bell reference, stay for that Daily Show digs on Moreno. Happy Friday TPM’ers!
Puppy is always worth the wait!
Another great actor is lost to us. Thankfully, her work will live on. RIP.
Mrs. Jstrummer showed me this one. She’s had the sharpie and sticky notes out all morning.

While the Justice Department has been arguably slow in responding to the threats posed by Donald Trump that culminated in the Jan. 6 attack, federal law enforcement has been focused, swift, and arguably relentless in targeting malign efforts by foreign governments and interests in corrupting our domestic politics for their own ends.

They’ve been more than arguably slow on Chump threats. They also seem to not notice 1000 other things he’s done which compromised national security. His SS detail has been a 9 year corruption scandal. Ukraine, Russia, China, Saudis, Egypt, Bibi, Rudy, Bill Barr, Wilbur Ross, Mike Flynn, Grinnell, Jared, etc.
“While the Justice Department has been arguably slow”
“Whole slew of polls showing TCF tied or ahead”
You don’t fucking say Garland’s DoJ is too fucking slow as democracy burns to the fucking ground. Destroyed by a senile orange two-bit crook.
Maybe not giving up on the Turkey $10M investigation might have been a good idea? But yeah let’s throw garlands at the feet of Garland’s DoJ because he indicted an idiot mayor for the crime of (checks notes) expediting a fire system permit. FFS.
What I said but with less swearing. Thanks for being more coherent than me.
I have not used “illicit” drugs, which I consider to be drugs unlawful for medical or over-the-counter use everywhere in the United States.
Two Observations:
- I gues Matt Gaetz just unlawfully acquires prescription drugs to abuse.
- I imagine that there are a lot of people in prison right now who would have liked to be able to dictate what they “consider” to be unlawful.
