‘he deeply regrets any inconveniences’…is this even a THING??? How can he conveniently ‘not remember’ and the DOJ ‘thinks’ that is a ‘valid’ argument? REALLY?

“Sorry, we clearly did not intend to be caught lying and now, oddly, we can’t remember a thing.” Not sure the courts are going to buy that.

The phrases “I do not recall” and “I do not remember” will be the basis of the ultimate GOP efforts to deal with a growing mountain of damning evidence against them. Watch how many Trump witnesses resort to that approach. You are going to hear it even more than “no quid pro quo.”

An obvious case of early onset bullshit. It is not hereditary, but it does seem to run along party lines.

Jeebus, John Gore looks just like Kavanaugh. Perhaps the cloning facility on Kamino is churning them out.

is this a diagnosis or just a new talking point we are going to hear about from now on?

Narrator: “The Trump judges bought it.”

Just to nail in this excuse, he’s going to leave for Walter Reed immediately for an unscheduled, semi-annual, annual partial physical that’s a nonemergent emergency.

I think you misspelled ‘straight-up lying’ as ‘memory problems.’

Sure, it’s fine that he doesn’t remember. But clearly anyone subject to such repeated, persistent occasions of unexplained (ahem) memory loss should not be practicing law. Or, perhaps, wandering around unsupervised in public. He should check himself into a diagnostic institution until the details of his ailment are fully understood and resolved.

That ship has already sailed. Trump’s written answers to Mueller were nothing but “don’t remember”. Sondland testified he can’t remember where his butt is unless the embargoed notes or other witnesses jog his memory (changed his testimony 3 times). But, yes, we are going to hear it ad nauseam as the bodies pile up.

It’s the same defense Steve Martin used (on SNL in 1978!!):

" You … can be a millionaire… and never pay taxes! You can be a millionaire… and never pay taxes! You say… “Steve… how can I be a millionaire… and never pay taxes?” First… get a million dollars. Now… you say, “Steve… what do I say to the tax man when he comes to my door and says, ‘ You … have never paid taxes’?” Two simple words. Two simple words in the English language: “I forgot!” How many times do we let ourselves get into terrible situations because we don’t say “I forgot”? Let’s say you’re on trial for armed robbery. You say to the judge, “I forgot armed robbery was illegal.” Let’s suppose he says back to you, “You have committed a foul crime. you have stolen hundreds and thousands of dollars from people at random, and you say, ‘I forgot’ ?” Two simple words: Ex cuuuuuse me!!

“Mr. Gore asks that we convey that he deeply regrets any inconveniences that may have been caused by the above-described issues.”

Jeezus Horatio Christo, he’s not an internet provider apologizing for outages. This is voter suppression.

Sorry Judge. We tell so many lies a day you can’t really expect us to remember them all can you?

One would almost be led to believe that DoJ lawyers are acting and arguing in bad faith.

Based on this article it is clear that John Gore is a prime candidate for appointment to the court of appeals. I am sure Moscow Mitch would happily push him through.

This is a shameless lie. And they told it to a Federal Judge. Just another example of their utter lack of respect for our laws and institutions. I hope the Judge insists on a thorough neurological exam

Perhaps the problem is with the entire corrupt DoJ, itself. After all, who was paying this putz. Gore is emblematic of the malfeasance and corruption of todays DoJ.
