A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo. Sign up for the email version. RIP USAID Yesterday brought another example of the extreme difficulty of litigating the constitutional structure of government in court and its inadequacy in reining in Trump’s lawless rampage in a timely fashion. You may have…
They can’t save us but, curiously, Laura Loomer might help with her latest target -
In an interview with Politico Playbook this week, Loomer said she is taking aim at Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his senior counselor Stefanie Spear over concerns that Kennedy is eyeing a 2028 presidential run.
Loomer, who says she is running a tipline to purge “disloyal” members from the administration
TIP LINE (have to fill out a form)
The good government group Common Cause is backing away from its longtime opposition to gerrymandering and partisan redistricting, saying it will not actively oppose mid-decade redistricting in blue states.
Good to see Common Cause has common sense. We’d all love it if everyone played by the Queen’s rules in politics, but barring that, there’s absolutely no reason to unilaterally disarm.
“Two of the law firms that reached deals with President Trump this year to avoid punitive executive orders were connected in recent months with the Commerce Department about working on trade deals, according to three people briefed on the matter.“
Have to admit, I can’t think of legal work more boring than a trade deal. That is indeed real punishment.
Ask not for whom the Laura looms, she looms for you…
Fleshing out yesterday’s story of TFG offering Putin the chance to extract rare minerals from Alaska, as well as from the locations they’ve captured in Ukraine (as if they haven’t already started there.)

Oh, she has a tip line now, does she?
We should make sure she gets plenty of tips…
She has mighty fine tips.
Who’s getting fired today…? for counting…
I was gonna say another day, another travesty, but this one is personal:
Donald Trump’s Navy and Air Force are poised to cancel two nearly complete software projects that took 12 years and well over $800 million combined to develop, work initially aimed at overhauling antiquated human resources systems.
The reason for the unusual move: officials at those departments, who have so far put the existing projects on hold, want other firms, including Salesforce and billionaire Peter Thiel’s Palantir, to have a chance to win similar projects, which could amount to a costly do-over, according to seven sources familiar with the matter.
I was on the Navy project in Annapolis where they implemented SAP. I’m betting this and the Air Force implementation are what’s being scuttled. It’s personal, now, and there are a lot of consultants who will find themselves out of work in the public sector project arena with no place to go. Public Sector is a whole lot different than private sector implementations and that experience won’t necessarily translate well between the two.
America first? How about America last? And where are the Epstein files? Maybe we should ask Putin.
In fact, the ugliness of both sides playing might give a chance at reform in '28/'29
Lets overturn Permanent Apportionment Act as well
What a goddamn jackass. Meanwhile, here’s some sobering news. Apparently Project 2025 is already 47% complete.
As I keep saying. It’s nice to hear someone else say it.
I know this has long since stopped being a goal but you could have professors from the University of Virginia on tv discussing the history of slavery instead of like The Miz and someone called Vomit Gurl, like you could do that, it’s a choice
It’s kind of reaching the point where I’d be less embarrassed to walk in on someone watching porn than them having CNN on. Like whatever your proclivities are CNN is far more perverse.
I guess on a very basic level we need to tell people over and over that watching cable news is not something a smart person does it’s the opposite of that. You can feel free to watch Top Chef or baseball or Mario 64 speedruns, none of them, genuinely, will make you as ignorant as CNN shouty bullshit

Context.
And thanks to the OBBB, she will not have to pay taxes on them!
Cheeseburger-eating surrender monkey.
Don’t forget that USAID cuts are estimated to cost 14 million lives by 2030 according to that fly-by-night organization the University Of Maryland School of Medicine. The next time people tell you to avoid Nazi comparisons, just tell them to shut the fuck up and mansplain away to these bastards . . .
After we gerrymander California we need to work on extradition for a substantial number of people to the Hague for crimes against humanity.
This is not hard.
