The Candidates To Replace Cy Vance Have To Walk A Fine Line On Trump | Talking Points Memo

Months before Manhattan district attorney Cy Vance announced that he would not seek reelection for a role in which he oversees a criminal investigation into Trump and his company, a public defender and former reality TV star who had already been angling to replace him was tweeting about the DA office’s investigation into Trump.

Just get the one with the highest percentage of Mob convictions.

T**** will be a no-brainer.

I like the guy that’s sued trump 100’s of times, not because he enjoys it, but because trump keeps breaking the laws or rules.

I just hate people like trump, they just never quit, they never think that the rules apply to them, so they do any and everything to get away with stuff and get more stuff because they think they deserve it, they think they are better than everyone else.

You may be smarter, you may earn more, you may have inherited more, whatever. You. Are. NOT. Better. Than. ANYONE. Else.

You can certainly be worse tho.

All appear to be good candidates, so it’s hard to pick which one is best. I propose we allow them to answer the question…

This election is a primary. A new DA will not take office until next Jan. By that time Vance will already have Trump in court.

I thought that was Rudy.

Boy, would that be ironic…

This is a mail it in article…

“I think to go in and say, this is going to be my priority or to make it a campaign platform would be a mistake,”

This dreck, presented as ‘acumen’ by a highly educated paid professional ‘thinker’. Jaysus… have we really declined so far as the obvious is now considered wit?

I understand you can’t say anything. Just smash some pumpkins, dice some carrots, squeeze some oranges. I can take a hint.

Here’s hoping these candidates know how to say things without actually saying them as well as the guy who should rightfully be convicted by them does.

Briffault suggested that a promise to indict or even to prioritize Trump’s case could add risk for the indictment to be thrown out on account of bad faith.

Since Vance has already stated that he’ll wrap up the investigation before leaving office, this is all pretty irrelevant.

All they have to say is they’re going to enforce the law fairly and impartially. And that would be enough

Lordy, I hope so.

I vote for horizontal stripes, preferably in a color that will make his skin look even nastier than it does now. Horizontal stripes would very flattering to any man with Trump’s physique.

Even worse. I think his intention was to sound like he was imparting wisdom.

Don’t bet the farm on it.

Well that was kinda my point… potato… pataaaaaahto… wit or wisdom.
