Good morning. It was great to meet all of you who came out to our event in New York last night with Marisa Kabas of The Handbasket. Trump Tries to Raise the Stakes on SAVE Again President Donald Trump made a show yesterday afternoon of preparing to throw Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) to…
President Donald Trump made a show yesterday afternoon of preparing to throw Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) to the wolves out of frustration that the SAVE Act is not yet on track to pass in any form.
It seems like Donald has a limited number of possible solutions to every problem.
Arm twisting is close to the top of the list of what he leans into.
There’s little evidence he has any inclination towards widening his repertoire, regardless of how much it doesn’t work.
He doesn’t have the abilities to be a national leader.
The Dotard is feeling his oats, but they’re Gerber baby oatmeal. What a putz.
“President Donald Trump made a show yesterday afternoon of preparing to throw Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) to the wolves …”
Since when does the President get to call the shots at the Senate?
Seriously, when I go to the restricted access facilities that are my local hospitals, I have present photo ID to secure admissions unless I’m carried into the ER.
That’s it.
What fucking world do these people and heir audience live in?

By the way, clearly the world they want to live in is a very different matter.
We’re talking spineless rethugs here.
And, they’re still pushing the sugar pills:

I think it’s in the public interest to find out if Rep. McGuire got the vaccine, how often he’s had it updated and whether or not he uses ivermectin for anything other than his parasites.
Here’s another gem from McGuire
What does that even mean?
I misposted – that was one I’d wanted to use.
I’ll fix it and try to slow down a bit moving forward.
Thanks.
I get my prescriptions from Costco Pharmacy. My Costco card is scanned when I pick them up. No one looks at it. But I do not have to provide legal I.D.
The depth of the cynicism of these people and their apparent disregard for he welfare of their constituents is breathtaking.
Or where they all what my former students called “short bus” kids?
More like his two sons, Fredo 1 and Fred 2.
For the hospitals and medical facilities, I don’t mind proof of ID – there are obvious reasons for controlling access.
For scripts, I provide identifying personal information, which was apparently judged sufficient by NYS.
ID for controlled substances is obvious (alcohol, tobacco.)
Oh, and I believe it was required for going to a government office (DMV most recently.)
Since I don’t travel much, I come across absolutely no other demand for picture ID. Usually, my money is sufficient to complete whatever’s the transaction.
What the fuck are these people on?
the DOJ agreeing to pay more than a million dollars to an anti-abortion activist who was convicted in 2024 of conspiring to prevent access to a clinic
More accurately, for terrorizing pregnant mothers.
Powertrip™, it’s not just for breakfast any more!
He has seemed amendable to passing… Hmmm…
For anyone looking for a good read, here’s a free link to a NYT article (for Sunday’s magazine or Opinion section, I suspect) on inflammation – how it works, its benefits, and the harm it can do. Medical researchers comment on the article’s excellence. Other commenters found, as I did, the article amazingly clear for lay people. Over the last 20 years or so, researchers (including not least at “Big Pharma”) have made enormous strides in understanding our body’s inflammatory system(s) and how drugs, alongside healthy habits, might help prevent or ameliorate a wide range of diseases, including those esp. associated with aging. (And, though the article nowhere mentions him: Fuck RFK, Jr.)
