Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MA) called it an “imbecilic deep betrayal of America.”
“The illegally impounded funds must be restored and released immediately to the blue states,” he added.

trump and his admin folk seem to be immune to any and all abuses of the Constitution and our laws. It is so and should not be. Had a democrat behaved this way repubs would be pulling their hair out in the rush to indict the perp.
He and {Current Occupant}. I think there’s a specific type or style of conman that appeals to a very specific mental framework in this country. Those two have worked it out and are exploiting it for all their worth. It’s not class based, but there does seem to be a distinct racist vein.
I defy anyone to explain what was accomplished by shoving Platner out of the race. I have to say it to quiet the idiots, but I am not defending Platner. I am admitting, yeah okay maybe is is an asshole and maybe he did force himself on his gf at the time. But honestly, so the fuck what? Fucking Trump has raped 12 year old girls. This is common knowledge, even if our corrupt fucking judicial system does nothing. But the point is, Platner wasn’t asking to be anyone’s friend, he wasn’t asking to date anyone. He was running to represent the people of maine, who deserve a fighter. and platner was a fighter. So again, I ask, what was accomplished by shoving Platner out? I’ve asked a couple of liberals I know and they both got frustrated and angry, and refused to answer. Because the answer is - nothing. Now we have Jackson, who seems okay. But he has the charisma of a damp dish towel, and he’s a former Republican, so let’s see if democrats once again climbed up on their high horse and declared yet another pointless Pyrrhic victory.
Yes he is, and he is smashing anything that stands in the way of his personal vendetta with the promise of a pardon from the Leader. He and Miller are true zealots.
Vought is the white supremacist Christofascist power behind a thin curtain. Worst of the worst. Too bad so many of our journalists are blinded by that thin curtain and easily distracted by the lazy stories attempting to present Trump as something other than a rabid madman.
I have two answers to that. First, “Our guy is bad but the other guy is worse” is not a winning argument. Especially when Trump isn’t on the ticket we’re talking about.
Second, women are a critical part of the Democratic coalition. It would have been a huge risk to run Platner and just hope that wouldn’t cause many women to sit out the election. It’s why the calls for him to drop out came so quickly.
Jackson will be okay; he knows his way around the Maine political scene. We don’t need charisma with a candidate as weak and compromised as Collins.
