The bipartisan infrastructure bill is being amended. The first two amendments were approved on Monday night with wide support, but the amendment process could grow contentious if Republicans seek to drag it out.

It’s a time gambit by the GOP. Everyone knows it. Deal with it.

Can’t wait to see what silly messaging amendments they propose. I don’t think it gets them very much. Their playground nonsense to delay and squeeze out attack narratives from the process will just annoy people more than anything. It’s just preaching to the kkkult.

O’Donnell had a piece on last night dealing with corporate heads tiring of the GOP. He talked with someone who interfaces with them a bit. It was important enough to feature it plus the said individual himself.

But it’s a positive piece and not a Gloom one, and what people are slow to realize is that the Gloom Industry has people who gotta eat, too.

I do not expect Josh to feature articles like this, but I could be wrong

I don’t see this bill passing both Houses.

Gee, what are the odds that the Pubbies will try to “drag things out”? It’s a waste of time, as we will still have the reconciliation package to back us up. The GQP is screwed and they know it.

Especially if Schumer looks at the Bipartisan Bill as one that the GOP can fuck up.

I can imagine some are. I think we’re starting to see a division line in the traditional plutocracy. Some of them truly benefit from the chaos, deregulation, inability of government and enforcement mechanisms to function, etc., but some don’t…some actually would prefer and profit better from stability, certainty and order not to mention a bit of social progress to go with it.

complaining about Democrats’ $3.5 trillion reconciliation “human infrastructure” bill by painting it as a “process of ramming through reckless multi-trillion-dollar taxing and spending spree”

Reconciliation can only be used to ram through reckless tax cuts. It’s in the fiscal conservative version of the Constitution.

Great Post. We must get at the predatory nature of the former. They all worship $$$$$$$$$ but the former are the kinds of people who would be planning their next score with a comet heading for their house.

McConnell Makes Clear GOP Wants To Waste Time As He Complains About Dems ‘Ramming Through’ Reconciliation

Just once, I would really like to see a reporter do their job and respond to McConnell with, “If you think the Dems are ramming this through, would you agree that you rammed through judges, including two SCOTUS nominees?”

Hey! I can dream, can’t I?

In the vast scheme of things corporate heads are not gonna look back on early August GOP senate efforts to slow walk the bipartisan bill in order to stop the budget bill as a reason to stop donating to their favorite Republican senators. If they like the bills they will donate to Dems if at all. If they don’t like the bills they will donate to Republicans.

McConnell would talk and act the same hateful way even if he had to pay the Senate to work there
