I have family at State as well, and have met many people through that connection. I concur - the best of the best, and meeting these people made me proud to be an American, and in many ways restored my faith in the country. I just hope all of these professionals can keep their heads down and stick it out until the Anomaly-in-Chief is defeated or removed from office.
Yeah WTF about that ‘preserving’ the victory verbiage? That is like saying you stole a bunch of bank loot and want to ‘preserve’ your stash by not getting caught, or at least if caught not having to cough up all the loot.
TPM homepage seems down.
They somehow knew that they had all the pieces in place for a win, and expected to win, but there were still some problems they had to deal with and small fires they had to contain. That’s how I read it.
Reading this transcript is like a real-time pimping out of our government. They’re just so obviously trying to turn it into a banana republic.
It did that about 45 minutes ago, too. Must be the “Deep State”.
I know I’ve told people that there are a lot, a whole lot, of committed public servants in the political world, and that it’s lazy and simply not true to wave your hand and say they’re all corrupt blah blah. I guess I’ll have to discuss in my usual calm, non-judgmental way any future references I hear to “bureaucrats” who just shuffle paper and so forth. It takes some experience in Washington to realize how many people with pretty spiffy resumes go there because they want to play in the bigs and do great work once they arrive. One thing people don’t realize is that although our public school system is mediocre on average, if you live in the right zip code you’ll have access to a world-class education from kindergarten to post-grad. We have a lot of hotshot performers in our population because of it.
So in essence there are thinking, caring, thoughtful adults in most government agencies. Can’t say that about the caliber of political appointees in Trumplandia.
The main site page is still down. What the hell has @castor_troy done now? Maybe it has something to do with that Ukrainian oligarch he keeps talking about, Kolomoisky (sp?)
And there’s this. The House GOP clown car in a rollover.
Not my fault. @playitagainrowlf was sneaking drinks in the server room again and spilled beer all over the server.
Figures. A 16oz can of Fosters?
Great! Then Democrats could call Gym Jordan and Devin Nunes, but not as “fact” witnesses.
25 oz. The small ones.
House GOP clown car in a rollover
It was awful – I walked through the mass of bicycle horns, flouncy buttons, and frilled collarets, and there was Devin Nunes’ cow, having landed awkwardly on Jim Jordan’s head like a quadruped Aron Baynes – all the while Mark Meadows was bawling, holding only Gohmert’s oversize shoes, occasionally shaking his tiny fists and shouting at the sky: “Where is the rest of Louis? Where’s the rest of him?”
This is really an important story. Hannity has more pull than the SoS and is arguably interfering in US foreign relations. What else is he meddling in and in what other government departments? Guy really, really needs to be deposed.
Perfect.
Would this be why Barr met with Murdoch? Was it some sort of Hannity needs to keep his head conversation?
I just want to know why Cohen was his lawyer.
I suspect that the meeting was about Hannity’s interlocutor status between Fox News, Giuliani and Trump. More specifically, I think it was a heads up that Fruman and Parnas had been arrested before leaving for Vienna and that Sean should stay put rather than meeting them for an interview with the bent UKR prosecutor,
Site’s back up.
At the time, it came out that Hannity was a bit of a slum lord and Cohen was representing him with respect to real estate legalities IIRC.
