Trump Comes for Birthright Citizenship Again

This reeks of an administration desperate for a win, any win.

Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. The next one could be worse, but WTF are we going to do.

From the EO on “birth tourism,” exceptions may be made:
Sec. 5. Exemptions. Notwithstanding the restrictions imposed by this order, the Secretary of State or the Secretary of Homeland Security may exempt a foreign national from actions taken pursuant to this order on humanitarian grounds or when the foreign national’s entry is in the national interest, as determined by the Secretary of State or the Secretary of Homeland Security. (Ending Birth Tourism )

It could be boilerplate; but, then again, in a regime credibly accused of selling pardons, maybe it’s not.

Russ Vought has used lies and threats to gut the Federal government. That amounts to fraud committed against the US. Indict and convict the SOB and lock him up for 20 years.

Hmmm, a bad decision of this SCOTUS that was actually worse:

I’ll be surprised to learn that anyone in this regime could keep their hands out of the cookie jar.
There may well be no shortage of grounds to charge the lot of them on.

Bad DoGE!
But the most important finding, in my opinion, is that GAO couldn’t replicate either Musk’s results or even his claimed accounting method. GAO could only confirm that DOGE used its claimed methodology in 27.5% of its claims. Over sixty percent it did not.

Coming from GAO, this is an actionable finding, one that makes the prospect of subpoenas for Musk and Katie Miller’s testimony next year positively delightful. They didn’t just lie about their savings, they lied about what they claimed were their savings. (Receipts! DOGE Fails an Audit - emptywheel )

Just a few of the orders Trump’s administration has openly defied:

  1. Order halting Alien Enemies Act deportation flights proceedings.
  2. Protective order barring Kilmar Abrego García’s removal to El Salvador
  3. Orders releasing immigration detainees
  4. Nationwide and district-level immigration habeas orders
  5. Order requiring bond hearings for detained
  6. Order unfreezing congressionally appropriated federal funds
  7. Orders requiring payment of foreign-aid obligations
  8. Order restoring Voice of America operations
  9. Order protecting refugee-admissions processing
  10. Orders restricting immigration conditions on disaster grants
  11. Orders blocking unlawful federal-worker layoffs
  12. Orders involving spending cuts and agency programs

No benefit of the doubt for these crooks. If it’s not about hate, it’s about money.

Watergate came from an incompetent burglary.
It would be poetic justice if this regime unspooled over a half-assed, petty attempt to frame a passer by for an imagined offence to protect Dear Leader’s projected image and vanity.

And not a damned thing has happened with his doing these.

That’s where the whole government-thing falls apart.
