Sondland has a bad case of CEO disease. Overconfidence in being able to explain everything without being responsible for any of it. The CEO can never fail, he can only be failed.
I can’t wait to see how the GOP contortionist crew try to twist this into “It’s still not proven/Not a crime/Look over there.” The media are finally starting to break as well it seems with fewer of them willing to give oxygen to “…But Biden!” or “If only we had proof!” and “Saying bribery is an impeachable offence is unconstitutional”
This is pretty damning testimony. He wants to get out of this without sharing any blame. Not sure he’s going to get that as you know the GOP is going to try and assign all the blame to him not understanding the situation.
I’m not sure they even have that to cling to.
Maybe, “It’s too close to the 2020 election - let the voters decide (because we sure don’t want to do what the Constitution requires of us).”
And none of them seem to understand that “He also committed crimes” is not actually a defense. So they’re all tossing in the documentary evidence that others were involved, which ends with documents covering all of them.
