The Administration's Ghastly Game Plan For Savaging Abrego Garcia

The only part I disagree with is this:

It sounds crazy to say that Republicans are making children go hungry to protect pedophiles, but it’s actually a reasonable interpretation of the situation.

As a political message it may have some use, but I don’t believe that’s playing a significant role in Trump’s decision to continue the shutdown. Because it’s clear that this is entirely up to Trump. The R’s in Congress will jump when he says “jump” and not before.

For one thing, Trump knows Congress will be back in session at some point, the vote on the Epstein files will be held, and he can easily… easily ignore it. The House has no tools to force a release.

The shutdown continues not for that reason, but because everything for Trump is a zero sum game. There has to be a winner and a loser, no compromise, and he thinks the Dems are losing the shutdown messaging. They’re not, according to the polls. But Trump lives in his own reality distortion field, aided and abetted by Fox News telling him what he wants to hear. Let’s see if the blowback from SNAP cutoff will change anything.

Giving further incentive for his minions to hide from the public the fact that his brain is mush. At least until he signs the pardons.

I guess now WaPo, NYTimes, CNN and CBS will have to report that Democrats are refusing to allow votes on paying the military and air traffic controllers.

>

“Senate Republican leaders are souring on the idea of forcing votes this week on so-called ‘rifle shot’ bills to pay members of the military and air traffic controllers, believing it would make it easier for Senate Democrats to continue voting against reopening the entire government,” said the report.

The shift was highlighted on Monday, as Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) “expressed deep skepticism about moving forward with bills to pay those federal employees” in a closed-door meeting with colleagues.

Donald Trump and the Republican Party aren’t waiting around for the midterms. Their attacks on free and fair elections have already begun, and on Nov. 4, we will get the live show.

I suspect the administration is mistaken in thinking that deporting KAG will end the judicial inquiry into its misconduct.

In the eyes of the White Christian Nationalists, that’s what it means to be a White Christian. That’s the joy and satisfaction of it. It’s what brings a happy tear to God’s eye. And makes Jesus shiver with pleasure.

I’m pretty sure these are their actual feelings.

You can see why there’s no room for empathy. They’re busy going all over orgasmic every time someone outside their own little group suffers or loses.

Apropos of nothing other than the continuing mental decline of “I didn’t fail the dementia test! that means I’m a Geeenius!” Donnie, here’s a report from the Daily Beast on his speech on board the aircraft carrier USS George Washington:

The actual speech is posted for your, er, “enjoyment.”

I admit, I am too worn out to research…BUT…I have a question about Presidential pardons.

Are there no restraints on who they are allowed to pardon?

I don’t think a President should be allowed to pardon people who commit criminal acts to further the President’s agenda.

I don’t care if it’s a Dem or repub, if they are ordering illegal acts, they should be not able to pardon those doing their bidding.

Sigh. Whistling into the wind…I know.

I had a dream last night that my wife awakened me on a Saturday morning and told me he’d died overnight Friday. However, no idea what Saturday this happens, so don’t start calling me psychic yet.

But boy, was I disappointed when I actually awoke this morning.

Lane said that the administration doesn’t appear to distinguish between real people and bots, making it much easier for an organization to create momentum than to recruit legitimate people concerned about an issue or company.

Trump’s reality is he’s the head of a cult. Polling doesn’t matter when you’re dealing with a cult. Our laws and elections are set up such that a minority, maybe as little as 40% of voters, control the Presidency and a majority of the national and state legislatures. Trump can be as cruel and illogical as he wants, so long as his cult constitutes that 40%. Cults will allow, or even seek, measures that hurt and kill them in service of the cult leader. They’ll commit mass suicide rather than refute or disappoint their leader.

Polls about Trump don’t mean shit. He’s going to do as he pleases, and probably get away with about 90% of it. He could be at 2% approval in the polls and it wouldn’t change his course a whit. He is murdering people in the ocean and no one is stopping him. If you can murder people, openly, gleefully, bragging about it, then what can’t you do?
