Once Trump is out of power he’ll be a laughingstock – just like at the WH correspondents dinner.

Trump’s MAGAts went for trump in the 2016 primary. I doubt Beto peeled off any of the slackjaws. Without trump on the ballot, yes, a lot of the turds will stay home, but Ted is second choice for many of them.

Let’s show Lindsey what power really means. Donate to his opponent.

The whole “businessman” exchange is the out for the Trumpistas. “He’s a businessman, not a politician, so you can’t expect him to understand politics.” Of course, the businessman who demands that someone “pay up” bogus info before “writing the check” is a crappy, corrupt businessman. Trump gives capitalism a bad (worse?) name. But we knew that already.

That is a good point. I also think Senators want to make sure Trump gets the word to quit, like Nixon did, to avoid having to take the vote.

And of course for the Kurds. Putin and Erdogan and Assad now kingmakers and redrawing lines in the ME. It’s the first time since WW2 that this country has not been involved in something like this. Shameful. Where’s fat Mike? Why not just disband the State Department and the military?

He will if/when he goes to prison. And while he is still free the courts can muzzle him the same way they did that sleazy Roger Stone. I agree the Republicans are screwed no matter what, but they richly deserve it.

Someone wrote/said that this is all tied together with the Russia investigation. No doubt it is.

The transcript of the phone call has him saying “the United States has been very very good to Ukraine. I wouldn’t say that it’s reciprocal necessarily because things are happening that are not good”
Reciprocal means quid pro quo.
QED.

It makes me wonder how broad and deep the corruption really is. How many other tentacles? How far in trump is with Russia and for how long. Saudi Arabia? How many?

And that’s just trump. Congress is in pretty deep too. It is very depressing and sad.

Oh shit yeah, this is definitely impeachment-worthy…and criminal to the max.

tRump still thinks US taxpayer money is his private piggy bank to do with as he wishes. I hate when I hear the description of tRump being “transactional” as pResident. Its not normal to use the US government like you’re running your own private business. tRump is incapable of learning the basic principles of public service or fidelity to our Constitution for that matter. I just wish the press would quit appealing to his vanity as a businessman by using language that manages to excuse the inappropriateness of his actions. At the very heart of what he does every day is one criminal conspiracy after another. If he wasn’t the pResident there would have already been RICO charges levied against him.

What he did was simply a corrupt bargain to extort another country for personal gain, while being pResident, using taxpayer money appropriated by Congress so he could use that country to smear a political opponent as a way to get reelected. He also wanted to undo any charges against him over how he managed to get elected with Russia’s help in 2016. Its not complicated. But as usual, its the gang that can’t shoot straight, led by a criminally-minded, incompetent and petulant man-baby.

Texas has a tradition of the majority of its eligible voters not voting. I believe they are second to last (ahead of only Hawaii) in voter participation.

I originally expected Sondland to get off with a slap on the wrist, but it sure looks like he perjured himself before Congress. That’s insane, he pays $1 million for a vanity ambassadorship. Knowing the seriousness of his testimony, he then lies to Congress, and gets caught on the lies within a couple days. Imagine what this does to his businesses while he’s in the clink.

There goes the notion that the Biden probe wasn’t central and it was OK for Trump to condition aid on Ukraine eliminating corruption.

NYT misquoted Sec. Clinton as saying Russia was grooming Gabbard when she had actually said that Republican party was grooming a third party candidate. They got 5 days of attacks on Sec. Clinton out of that misrepresentation of the truth before correcting it today. Something is fishy at the NYT. It never ends with them. Again and again their mistakes damage one party and promote the other. The misquoting of Sec. Clinton did promote a possible third party candidate or at the least a weak nominee because Gabbard got mileage out of it.
