National polling consistently reflects roughly half the electorate supports Trump. It’s consistently a 47-47 contest in a large number of diverse polls. I’ve said this before, to much pushback: Every other adult you meet in your daily travels is a deplorable, execrable human being. They’re either racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, homophobic, anti-intellectual, dismissive of the plight of the poor, the disabled, the mentally ill, those trapped in the prison industrial complex, and anyone else not like them. They’re ammosexual gun nuts. They’re Christian nationalists believing Jews and atheists and Hindus and Wiccans are bound for hell, and maybe there’s nothing wrong with helping kick off their journey getting there. 50% of your fellow citizens swim in a cesspool of terrible, shared, deplorable traits. But no one wants to admit it. And it’s a mindset, a cult, from which they cannot be saved.

Nope. I think it’s only in our little corner of the world. There are issues elsewhere, absolutely, but what the US is going through is absolutely mad. I mean, complete loss of logic and, possibly, consciousness.
Our ancestors would never understand what’s transpired here in the last 15 - 20 years and they would be absolutely appalled at the complacency that seems to pervade the entire electorate.
Maybe November will be telling. Maybe January will be telling.
