Thanks To The Filibuster, Reconciliation Is The Last Train Out Of Town. Advocates Refuse To Miss It.

Now that the bipartisan infrastructure plan has been fully defined and delineated, the mad scramble for advocacy groups to get their priorities into the reconciliation vehicle begins in earnest.

leaving it to the parliamentarian to remove whatever elements she deems incompatible

Why is this a question? First rule of situations like this is to add extra stuff for the parliamentarian to remove, leaving you with what you wanted in the first place.

As King Solomon once observed, if you know the person is in a situation where they will make the mistake of trying to split the baby, then you have to lard that baby up with realistic-looking prosthetics so it makes it through the procedure unscathed.

Why do they think this is a defense? Who was in charge of the FBI on 1/6?

expanding citizenship to millions doesn’t so neatly affect the budget.

BS. Having millions of “new” Americans qualify for benefits (they should have all along) might have a few budgetary effects. Byrd approved.

Through a fresh vote, in light of what has been done by that guy? Maybe it would deny Sen. Sinema her fulcrum.

It was hilarious. Schumer shuffled right past McConnell and his gang to grab the podium.

There is something wrong with him. He is flailing and not well. Johnson needs to step down.

There has been something wrong with him for a long time now. Did it start with his trip to Russia? Inquiring minds want know.

Shorter version: The Senate is a ridiculous farce foisted on us by a bunch a slave owners to preserve slavery. It must be dissolved and the House uncapped.

That would be beneficial for the United States. Presently, Johnson is not behaving as though he has American interests of any kind as his goals.

Logic is not Ron Johnson’s strong suit
Neither is self awareness

I, for one, demand that Ron Johnson be allowed to testify. Let him come forward, bring his evidence, and explain this plot by the FBI. We have a right to know! Now if he shows up with a bunch of unsubstantiated babble, it’s off to the Red Queen. Lying to the public should have costs.

Any Dem that suggests passing the ‘bipartisan bill’ without the reconciliation piece needs to get primaried.

I am 1000% behind junking the ‘bipartisan bill’ if this bill doesn’t get done. And I doubt a single member of the progressive caucus would lose their seat for doing so.

Patently false.

You need to study the Connecticut Compromise, which had nothing at all to do with slavery.
