The log of 2,319 text messages that Mark Meadows turned over to the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack serves to document an expansive plot to reverse former President Trump’s loss in the 2020 election that dozens of members of Congress eagerly participated in. However, they also provide a glimpse into the day-to-day rivalries and cutthroat culture of the Trump White House, where Meadows served as the last chief of staff. One set of text messages from former Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke is a particularly vivid example of Trump-era backstabbing and maneuvering.
Zinke has been described as “one of the most ethically dubious members” of the Trump Cabinet due to the more than a dozen federal investigations that were sparked by his conduct.
That’s quite a distinction for Ryan, something he’s no doubt proud of (what republican wouldn’t be).
Let’s face facts, the entire Trump administration was likely the most corrupt and evil in American history. Zinke was just one cog in a thoroughly criminal operation.
I live in Montana where Zinke was just elected to the new congressional district formed in the western part of the state so he’s heading back to Washington. Unbelievable since it raises the question of how bad does someone have to be to become unelectable?
Normally I would say “dead”. But some dead people have won elections.
The real question is how bad do you have to be for Montanans to reject? The only thing I can think of is having a (D) after your name. After that, anything goes.
