I’m pretty sure that’s why the writer included this disclaimer.
Even if the Senate is up against the wire for confirming Barrett and doesn’t do so until November 2, the 34 days between her official nomination and confirmation would be eight days faster than the process for Ginsburg. Stevens holds the record since 1975, having been confirmed in just 19 days.
Jackson’s nomination process, should she be confirmed today, is at 24 days.

The whole complaint is especially ridiculous given the other confirmations the future Justice Jackson has been through with substantial Republican support. It would be hard for Congress to know a nominee much better than they know her.

I’m pretty sure this is due to incompetence, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was intentional.
One can chalk it up to tunnel vision, they’re so focused on their agenda, that they did not take time to consider all implications. However this plays into all sorts of hillbilly stereotypes, that it is hard to give them the benefit of the doubt.

They are not idiots. Well in one way. They are just putting up more FUD and projection, depending on their audience having short and muddy memories. Let’s stop presuming they simply are too dumb to see their own hypocrisy.

Can someone please explain to me why there isn’t an organization producing ads targeted at likely Republican voters trumpeting this from the rooftops? Why can’t liberals stand up and say, “When did America become a nation that buries its head in the sand when freedom and democracy are threatened? Since when is this the best we can do? Are these the people who represent your beliefs? America, we can do better than these faux-outrage fueled whiners.”
Yes, for some voters these people represent the goal not a bug, but it’s time that the left has the courage to stand up and call a spade a spade. Remind people that it’s possible to disagree on policy without degenerating to sympathizing with actual fascists.

About that acquittal of a Capitol rioter: who sez there aren’t “Trump judges”? 43 years old, with a lifetime appointment, who thinks there was nothing unusual about 1/6 (https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/03/29/mcfadden-jan6-jail-kavanaugh-sentences/). The thugs are going to be lining up outside his courtroom.

Is there any section specifically barring piligamy or any marriage born out of rape, incest, or religious grooming organizations? this is a slippery slope… in a years time some republican will be screaming “states rights!” And try to marry their 16 year old sister AND their infant cousin in the same wedding. Afterall, if God wanted to stop them - he’d have make this illegal.
