The diplomatic aide who reportedly overheard a phone call in which President Donald Trump asked the EU ambassador about “the investigations” is set to testify in the House’s impeachment inquiry Friday.
Much of the GOP line of defense re the career folks who have testified thus far hammers on the notion that everything is 2nd- and 3rd-Gen rumor re tRump’s intentions. To have someone testify who’s actually overheard him abuse his power is particularly damning.
CNN and NBC News reported that the aide who relayed the information to Taylor is David Holmes. The U.S. embassy in Ukraine currently identifies Holmes as a counselor for political affairs.

And if Trump would let Giuliani, Mulvaney, Pompeo, Perry, and other assorted cabinet members and political appointees testify, the Republicans would have waaaaay more first hand testimony than they’d care to deal with.
I hope Mr Holmes is well-prepared to testify. I don’t think the Republicans or their counsel are doing a particularly good job of cross-examining the witnesses, but Jordan’s uber-combative approach seems designed to rattle the witness.
Sondland is such a moron. Criming in writing, criming on the phone in front of witnesses, telling everybody about all the awesome criming.

Not much drama but lots of very damning facts coming out, and I find the GOP’s attempt to discredit Dems and their charges not to mention the witnesses and facts to be laughable and pathetic.
As Trump might put it, it wasn’t strong, it was weak, and so sad.

BREAKING: The whistleblower has just been positively identified as Melania Trump. She was said to have broken down in tears when confronted with this accusation by Anonymous and just said “Please, I want just this be over already, how much I can take? Prada no more welcomings me.”.
Rattling the witness is all the GOPers have. They have no real contrary evidence. After all just using what the White House has released there is plenty to impeach and convict trump. And what are the GOPers gonna do? Call what the White House itself released fake? That transcript had to have had trump’s permission to be released. And in it as we all know there is the naked “this for that” in reference to our electoral process that is illegal and an epic ethical failure on trump’s part. This was a confession from his own pie hole. So all the republicans have a is bluster, a clown show, disparaging the character of a witness or distraction.
This will make Mark Meadows feels so much better. Finally he will see that sometimes the truth is…well, just the truth.
