It really is time for professional lawyers to hold the people who filed all these frivolous lawsuits responsible for doing so. It’s good for the profession to remind everyone that courts are not to be used for politics or avenues to force lies into a legal framework, but are places of truth and justice. It may take a while, but sanctions and disbarment, as well as paying court costs, will make it clear that this kind of thing will not be tolerated in the future.
If the Republicans had actual evidence of fraud, then filing court cases would have been proper…they had nonsense, but continued to try to push that through in an attempt to overturn the election. That just cannot be allowed to stand without punishment.
Trump ended up with cranks like Sydney Powell, Lin Wood and Rudy Giuliani because real lawyers would not risk their reputations by getting involved in these frivolous lawsuits. But that won’t dissuade the cranken because their reputations are already shot. So they only thing left is disbarment and imposition of fines and legal fees upon the plaintiffs.
Makes one wonder just what these reprobates are being promised by the deplorables surrounding Trump. He certainly will have nothing to offer them once he’s kicked out.

The courts should not be burdened by scoundrels misrepresenting the truth and promoting frivolous crap while pretending to be lawyers. If they cannot act appropriately to the moral/ethical level required, they should have no place in a courtroom and should be disbarred.
I speak as a non-lawyer, but I doubt it. The public defender statutes are all about not having the money to hire a lawyer, and Trump has made many statements in public about how much boodle he’s swimming in. Having made yourself too toxic to find a lawyer willing to take on your case is not generally covered by any of the legislation I’ve seen.
These courts have power under Rule 11 (and state court counterparts) to impose fines on the lawyers same as the plaintiffs. Disbarring these people is not enough. The court needs to impose fees and costs on both the lawyers and their clients AND refer the lawyers to the state disciplinary authorities.
What you say is literally true, no doubt. However, that has never stopped Trump, and his claims about his wealth change from day to day based on his whim and what is convenient for the circumstance. If he can scam free legal services, he will, especially when the truth is that his net worth is negative by billions. It’s all part of the grift. He is also arrogant enough to think he can represent himself. Either way, lawyers who will work for him are getting scarce.
