It’s beginning to look like this race will be a tough battle between Biden and Warren. If they fight it out to the last primary and the delegate count is close, with Biden prevailing, he absolutely should ask Warren to be his running mate (without interviewing anyone else) regardless of how much bad blood there may be between them. I know this has never happened in the past but this is not a normal election. There is just no margin for error this time and the usual method of picking a VP that the nominee is “comfortable” with is a luxury we can’t afford. We need to have everyone happy and moving in the same direction from the convention forward. FWIW I think Hillary Clinton would be president right now if she had picked Bernie Sanders for VP. And I say this as someone who did note vote for Bernie in the primary.

OMG I thought it would never end. And TBH Warren did start getting on my nerves towards the end. She seriously needs to drop the preachy “You have to listen to me!” tone and actually answer the questions asked and not the ones she believes she should have been asked. And she’s my favorite at this point. I assume that she’ll adapt over time, but it will be a general election issue if not. Voters want to be able to relate to a candidate, even if it’s an illusion given how accomplished most are. As they say, winning in politics is about authenticy–if you can fake it, you’ve got it made.
But, yeah, way too long, way too many candidates, some of whom don’t stand a chance and don’t really add anything useful. No wonder I don’t watch these.

I’ve never been a fan of Ellen’s. Too “cute” (personality-wise) and snarky and reluctant to get into anything too dicey. Skims on the surface of things like most TV hosts. She’s like that needy kid who adopts you. But WTF with this thing with Bush?!? Seriously? Man was responsible for millions of deaths and she’s putting all that aside because he seems nice? Is this how evil is normalized or rehabilitated, by having immature entertainers make it seem less bad?

I watched it. My wife refused. She said 12 is just too many. I think she was right.
I suspect Warren was surprised that she was attacked on healthcare by Mayor Pete and Klobuchar. It doesn’t take a genius to realize that medicare for all will require an increase in taxes, but overall costs will go down. She ought to adopt Sander’s argument on the damn bill.
Biden did pretty well in this debate. Better than earlier, but I still don’t know why anyone wants to return to 2016.
Watching Yang and Warren spar on Yang’s concern about automation destroying American jobs and later on breaking up tech companies was interesting. I understand Yang’s concern, and think it is real, but we have see buggy whip companies closed before. Every big industrial revolution has resulted in more not fewer jobs. I think that might happen this time as well but I am not sure. I am sure, however, that the big tech firms should be broken up. We need to enforce anti-trust laws.
I think almost everybody got the disaster Trump’s precipitous withdrawal from Syria has created… Tulsi Gabbert completely took herself out of the campaign and probably politics on this issue.
Does Harris take drugs before debates? Her manner seems very sleepy and she insists on telling us that she was a prosecutor every time she opens her mouth.
Cory Booker was as polished as always. One wonders why he is stuck at 2%, but stuck he is.
All in all it was 12 people agreeing angrily trying hard to point up tiny differences with the others. .

Tulsi said “regime change war” about 18 times. Does she know the Kurds found mass graves of men, women and children, that Kurds rescued or gave sanctuary to Yadzi women abused as sex slaves, and other minorities including Christians? That Assad tortured and murdered thousands, many of whom escaped to safe areas through Kurdish lines?

Someone needs to explain to me what the strategy is for the centrist who attacked Warren? Do they really think that the people that might be peeled off from Warren will throw their support to Buttigieg, or Klobuchar, or Beto?
The person that these centrists need out of the way is Biden – he’s the one candidate, who if he faded, would benefit those three.
