Just a day after President Donald Trump was formally impeached, seven Democratic presidential hopefuls took the stage in the last debate of the year.

I think that, for the most part, this debate was actually a lot of fun to watch. I really wasn’t expecting that.

Senator Klobuchar deserves higher rating… maybe Warren deserves lower rating and please do we need to hear of selfie lines anymore?

I’m so proud of all the Democratic nominees on the stage tonight. They conducted themselves well, stuck to answering the questions asked, and were tough on each other when they thought they needed to be. As they all acknowledged, any one of them would be MUCH better than the current occupant. And best of all, none of them brought up the size of their genitals. These are the adults. The Republicans, on the other hand are a party with no real ideas, no honor, no integrity, but plenty of bigotry, racism, misogyny, ignorance, and fear mongering. They are a bunch of mostly white men (and some frat boys thrown in for bad measure). I hope American voters will see the clear contrast after tonight’s substantive debate.

post debate interview from Klobuchar --talking about farm policies)

Q: are they talking points for Mayor Buttigieg?
Klobuchar: Ask him. (very snippy)

It’s probably just me but I thought the greatest takeaway from tonight’s debate was that Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow weren’t pre-empted. But again, that may be just me.

Me too. I was left with the feeling that we’ve got a good bunch to pick from.

It’s so much better with fewer candidates on the stage.

I agree. With fewer candidates it was far more engaging.

Are we through with these debates yet?

Maybe I missed it, but did Biden say anything remotely substantive tonight?

Biden and Klobuchar had good showings. Warren was good. Bernie not so much.

Her problem is that she has to peel off voters from Pete and Biden to improve her rating, but Biden voters are mostly sold on him while going after Pete isn’t likely to win over his voters. Her major gain would be Kamala supporters who still hold some grudge against Biden.

OT (but it is the whole fucking topic of getting rid of Trump and putting him in jail) and worth a look … Trump’s private meeting with Putin is what started the whole Ukraine interference in 2016 conspiracy theory. The motherfucker believes Putin more than the United States Intelligence Agencies

After meeting privately in July 2017 with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Group of 20 summit in Hamburg, Trump grew more insistent that Ukraine worked to defeat him, according to multiple former officials familiar with his assertions.

The president’s intense resistance to the assessment of U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia systematically interfered in the 2016 campaign — and the blame he cast instead on a rival country — led many of his advisers to think that Putin himself helped spur the idea of Ukraine’s culpability, said the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe internal discussions.

ETA: And Moscow Mitch has to decide whether he supports Putin or whether he supports the USA (I’m afraid I know the answer).

So do the voters of KY (I really don’t want to count on you, but Holy Shit, do something good for the country).

I just popped in here to say: FU Tulsi Gabbard, the debate was better without you. There, carry on.

I listened to a good part on the radio. Biden had a decent night, no wandering around in the rhetorical wilderness that I heard.

He already has. A long time ago.
