While her stand against the War in Iraq (contra Biden’s) is laudable her support for the Libyan intervention and her responses to the Benghazi attack (as well the resulting chaos in Libya) will get a lot of scrutiny from our Fair-haired POTUS.

I was listening to a former intelligence official describe the vetting and levels of scrutiny before something makes it to the Daily Briefing

Now, now that former intelligence official obviously had never worked for a jenius like Trump. According to our White House resident jenius he’s got the best intelligence of anyone who sat in the Oval Office. Everyone else was a piker compared to the self avowed jenius.

This is the Trump Two Step:

I like that a lot. Just one caveat, it’s not one of Trump’s lies, not with that “best of my ability” clause in there. There’s room for a whole fleet of Mac trucks, driving side by side, to get through that loophole.

The short list seems to be Warren, Harris and Rice. Pros and cons for each. I don’t envy Biden’s campaign doing the vetting.

Depending on what I ate for breakfast and which side of the bed I got out on - I’m for any of the three. Especially when one makes a good public statement or takes a stand on the issues. (Consider those actions to be VEEP auditions) This is certainly a good one from Rice.

All three have exceptional skillsets and talents - and each has their own luggage. Both private - and as perceived by the public. It’s a tough vetting process.

Guess we’ll know soon.

yep, she has the fire inside for the job. Probably has a hit list ready, hopefully.
I thought Rice for VP way back when Biden announced.
She knows the system, doesn’t take crap and has very little baggage to bang on her about.
Except of course, Obama.
Those around the world that matter know her and that experience alone is needed to rebuild what has been lost because of this amature creep show we are stuck with for the moment.

I could go for any of them. Since back in the day I have been a Warren fan. Harris is a comer. Smart as a tack and very sure of herself on TV. Rice is the person I would like making life and death decisions for American troops.

Given Joe’s age, unlike most elections, we have to ask which would make the best President. Again a tough choice.

I’m quite puzzled by our sudden fascination with the nicknames game here at TPM. Let me be clear: Black people don’t like nicknames. We’ve been called out of our given names since “time immemorial”, (yes, that’s how we say it) and we don’t much like it at all, unless it’s a really close family member doing it. We need to abandon rather than popularize or mimic this Trumpian proclivity. Her name is either Dr. Susan Rice or Madam Ambassador Susan Rice, or just plain Ma’am, to you or me. Please.

It doesn’t have to. Biden’s VP pick will only have two months of actual campaigning after the (virtual) convention, so how good she is as a campaigner doesn’t really matter. She can think on her feet in interviews like this, and she’d do fine against Pence in a debate. Does anyone doubt that?

The most important thing in a VP pick for me, given Biden’s age, is someone prepared to handle both the domestic and international scene if they have to take over on a moment’s notice. She’s the best qualified on the international front, which I think is the most dangerous threat in the next few years. Putin would hate her, which is a bonus. The Chinese would know she has a steel spine and doesn’t mess around too, another bonus.
