WASHINGTON (AP) — Peter Strzok spent his FBI career hunting Russian and Chinese spies, but after news broke of derogatory text messages he had sent about President Donald Trump, he came to feel like he was the one being hunted.
Biden should name him the new US Attorney for either DC, SFL, SDNY, EDNY or NJ, where Trump does most of his criminalizing. Or the US ambassador to Russia. Or maybe put him in charge of his secret service detail. Do they have jurisdiction in prison?
Jeezus. How could Strzok know what he knew, and not have a negative opinion of Trump? It makes him a normal human. Perhaps intemperate to say so on a government issued phone, but the standard should be did he actually do anything illegal, unethical, or inappropriate, and it doesn’t appear that he did. Despite intense investigations by Barr, all they’ve been able to come up with are false allegations that he somehow tricked Flynn into lying. He certainly shouldn’t have lost his job over this.
Meanwhile, Trump goes on and on, publically tweeting and saying and doing far worse things to our democracy without consequence.
If I were Strzok, I’d take the “lover” jibe as a compliment, because according to Stormy Daniels, Trump wasn’t much of one.
In a world that was right-side up, this man would still be fighting spies and the Spy-in-Chief would have been caught and punished for his crimes. I remember how impressive he was in that hearing. They were trying to delegitimize him and found themselves no match for his intellect and character. I’ll never forget a crestfallen Gowdy nearly sliding off his chair, utterly defeated. It was magnificent. For God’s sake do what you can, no matter how small, and let’s get this good man back doing the job he trained for.
Trump has been spending the past evening and this morning tweeting about critical race theory (CRT for me has always been Cathode Ray Tube). He has instructed OMB to scour all the government agencies and bureaus in order to find CRT related training modules, human resources instruments and the like and remove them. I’m not certain that he even understands CRT. I don’t think he understands cathode ray tubes either.
Not sure exactly what this accomplishes except to scratch white nationalist itches.
The thing that has always bothered me is that if the same audit had been done on the phones of the rest of his division or the rest of the FBI, whatever, we’d mostly likely have found many more cases of agents saying much worst about HRC. I seem to recall some division of the FBI feeding info to Rudy during the campaign. In any event, it just isn’t weird for cops to have opinions on subjects of investigations nor is at all strange for employees to discuss thoughts on a potential new boss, let alone for citizens to talk about those running for president. An FBI agent talking about a presidential candidate is essentially all three.
Putin’s playboy has carried on his usual three-year old response of endless revenge on a person who actually had good reason to say a lot more about Russia’s election meddling and compromising information on him. Just as Cheyne outed Plame, Strzok was exposed and targeted for death threats to further protect the damn fool.
I wonder how my war widowed full on Trumper acquaintance feels today to know her dead husband was a sucker. Meanwhile Joe Biden shows humanity for troops on a personal level.
Beyond their usefulness as timed distraction, Trump’s outrageous comments are loyalty tests. He and his party keep score. Revenge and making examples of its victims are, like everything the man touches, mere tools. The press is complicit when it becomes his echo chamber. Trump sits back, sees how it plays, then releases the twisty bots and memes fashioned by AI and the science of emotional manipulation via Facebook and all the internet provides. Always easy to change the “facts” when people are convinced none exist.
