Striking Number Of GOP Figures Feature In The Fulton County Indictment

…Red states…

From what I understand, the Devil was looking for votes as well as souls, since “He was in a bind, he was way behind, and was willing to make a deal”…

To quote a certain J. R. Biden: “This is a big fucking deal.” And Joe, who’s a couple of years younger than I am, knows, because we have seen some big deals.

Minimum 5 years on the RICO in my understanding. Gotta feel sorry for them./snark

OK, I’ll bite. Given that -

  • he’s the AG who oversees federal prosecutors, not a prosecutor himself like Willis
  • multiple federal indictments have been filed against DT

What is it that Garland “wouldn’t” do that he should have done?

It was an ambitious crime.

ETA: The evidence that has already been made public clearly indicates his guilt. He’s entitled to a defense, but given the line of defense we’ve seen so far, the only way he skates is if the jury pool is tainted.

Since all of these mopes will have their own lawyers, I look forward to seeing who tries to cut a deal.

To the best of my knowledge he has yet to investigate those in the FBI who are alleged to have dragged their feet in investigating Trump.

Wait until the flipping starts. She’ll have plenty of corroboration from people who were witnesses to the crimes.

I still don’t see it. And I think it sets a bad precedent if we start seeing any of this as acceptable or routine. Biden didn’t win states by 20 votes, or 120 or even 1200 votes.

As CNN’'s excellent Abby Phillip concisely pushed back at Anderson Cooper last evening, even Georgia was not particularly close … 12,000+ votes is not a near miss.

In the case of Georgia, It represents nearly .25% of the total vote, just barely in the recount range of many states. And it was fully recounted, twice as I recall. So, no, there wasn’t a particularly good reason to scrounge together an alternative slate of electors … “just in case.”

Edit – emphasized that last part was snark, to be clear.

There’ll be more flipping than a net full of flounders.

I expect something similar to eventually come out of the full J6 probe and hope it gets announced soon after Trump loses his case against Jack Smith’s isolated J6 charges against him.

Yeah, but as we all know

That’s a terrific way of making the point.

I would like to use one of my “Told you so” cards now that Fulton County has reported in.
Not I told ‘you’ so…but your comments made me think about this again.

I was screaming from the 2nd J6C hearing…that THIS was where the investigations belonged.
Everyone knew Chump was a horrible person and set all this in motion…but what was important was the '22 election and going after these states (and the elected officials who conspired) would be much more effective than pounding another nail in Chump’s hide.

This kind of act, like in GA and MI…kicks over the whole R hornet nest. It soils almost every R figure in each state, and reaches right back to the WH. If they can somehow try to put their hive back together…more power to them. But if you could show that the whole R infrastructure…nationally and the whole top of each state…was involved in overt acts to steal YOUR election and overturn YOUR state…the Rs are going to have a nasty election.

But instead, the national D Wizards and Liz Cheney found a way to just keep sullying Chump. Moved the needle about 5% on Chump’s approval…in an election he wasn’t running in.

And as far as the 2 states that added some weasel words…that shouldn’t get them off the hook. The same people guilty of RICO and Fraud and Conspiracy did all the same moves in every state. The acts, the collusion, the conspiracy functions were all the same. A short sentence or two doesn’t remove everyone’s culpability…and investigating and threatening those people and making a really nice, big show about dragging them through the process would STILL have done the Ds a lot of good.

The Ds are politicians. The J6C was politics. Elections are real. Retail politics is the game we are playing. The J6C was not beholden to be run like a courtroom. It wasn’t a trial. Going down the wormhole again and again and again trying to find a smocking gun sentence from Chump was counter-productive.

Anyone can go back and find my comments from June/July '22. I was saying what the J6C should concentrate on before their first public hearing…and I was upset about every episode after the 1st one.

Interesting discussion on Morning Joe. Joe is mourning the loss of his party. He went on a rant about some of these indicted people who told him years ago he was too conservative and look at them now. The real comedy was John Heileman chiming in and reminding Joe that he warned him (Joe) years ago the party was lost and not coming back.

I think Joe is probably off camera having a large glass of adult beverage or having a fight with Heileman…

Pure f’ing comedy.

As a Democrat I have to say thank you to GOP Brad Raffensperger for taping that phone call otherwise none of this would have seen the light of day.
